The Focal Bathys supports:
- SBC
- AAC
- aptX
- aptX adaptive

So if you have an iPhone, you are paying $800 for a headphone which you cannot even use to it's full capabilities thanks to greedy Apple.

Here, I quoted again what I said earlier.

Wonder what the unboxing of these headphones looks like.

Looks great but $800 just for headphones?
The price is way too steep but I get it’s a luxury brand. 😑🤥
this is not a luxury brand. it is an audiophile brand. in the audiophile world, the soundquality-to-price ratio hits harder as you go into the thousands. with that said, the focal bathys outclass the airpods max in terms of overall audio quality. however, i can't really speak for the QC or feature differences. anyone who is stuck in the apple eco system rabbit hole would probably just overall be better with the airpods max, but no other wireless closed-back headphone can currently compete with the focal bathys so the $800 price tag is privilege that focal is awarded for having the top of the line headphone.

Until wireless headphones at these prices get the option of easily replaceable batteries there not worth the price.
Most of us use cell phones that do not have user-replaceable batteries. I'm fine with taking a device in for service every several years for a new battery.

Which is fine until the company decides to end support for your product. With a phone it's less of an issue as the service life is generally 5-6 years these days. A high quality set of headphones can last decades if looked after properly.
