Might pick one up just for the trial period. I did a demo in the US and it was neat but I can’t see the long term use at this point.

Record some spatial “home videos” with the wifey 😏 to re-live in a few years…

Excellent. I "Can't wait" to demo VP at Apple Store. In Canada it is "starting from" $4,999.99 CDN. It was tough but Apple managed to sell it below $5,000. 👏

Apple could design some kind of room scenting device for the Canadian Vision Pro. Spray scents in the room to correspond with what the user sees in Vision Pro.

Chinese prices seem reasonable as it will be used as a gift between rich people or to make business deals.

When too youtubers haven't done a video on a flagship product in more than 3 months, you know that it's lacking.

We need a non-pro model without the silly external screen, a bit less weight and a 30% price drop.

The killer app will be GPT4o Vision. Imagine switching on the app and being able to ask it about what's infront you e.g math, how you have decorated a room, plant identification, condition and floor plan of a property etc.

I’ve had the demo, so I won’t be booking one here.

It is expensive, but then so is a Mac Pro. So is the AirPod Max.

So I won’t be whining about something I wouldn’t pay out for, but for those that want to choke up these pages with stories about how wrong the AVP is for you, fill your boots.

It will be very interesting to find out how much demand there will be for this after a few weeks being on sale.

After the local release hype has died down, early on a cold Wednesday morning in February, at an unpopular Apple store with zero queues and a fair chance the device is reasonably sterile I might, just might, go and see what this thing can do so I know whether or not is is worth thinking about come Gen 2 or 3.

You will be lucky if there even is a gen 3 never mind gen 2

The craving to declare a product dead that’s been out for six months, the updated software beta for which has been really well received, is absolutely delightful to those of us who don’t gulp rage for survival.

There will be a gen 2. And a 3. It will get smaller. There will be multiple options. It’s clearly the future. It’ll be fine, and there will be something new to rage against for those who need to.

I’m not against this product.
As long as they keep making 50% pure profit on every headset sold.
There will be no demand within the general public for this headset.

There’s no correlation. First generation devices have never been fully accessible to mass users. Your statement was this will potentially be the only unit released and it will have been a failure. That’s a hope, not reality.

Ok everyone has an iPhone on this forum yet hardly anyone owns this?
If this product is as good as your saying then why does everyone not own an Apple Vision Pro headset in the USA?
Yet you can easily buy one right now yet there is no massive demand for this product now why would this be?
It will go the same way as AirPods Max been out for about 4 years with no refresh

To be fair, iPhones have been out for quite a while.

What a ridiculous argument.

The first iPhone was expensive, limited only to a single carrier, and didn’t have an App Store or a polished interface. Apple invested in promising tech that was still effectively in beta and over 15 years later, they’re extremely commonplace.

A mistake many make is assuming the MacRumors forum section is a representative sample of users or consumers. I use my Vision Pro every day, but I only post sporadically. I’m out using my device and getting a lot of out of it. I’m not going to spend every day dealing with rage addicts. These boards are magnets for the angry pessimists.

I can easily buy an iPhone today as well. You’re equating availability and demand now? Apple knew this device would appeal to a small number of users, that it would grow over time, just like every other piece of technology they sell, and that the investments they’re making today, year by year, will put them in a solid position as the immersive market comes into its own over the next generation.

Again, you’re in good company with the people who insisted the iPhone was dead, the iPad was dead, and the Apple Watch was dead. Vision Pro is the Airpods Max now? Wow, you’re going to pull something trying to find something to complain about. Apple sells multiple sets of headphones and the Max appeals to one particular subset of user. The day I was buying my Vision Pro I saw two pairs being sold. Not for me. I love the Airpods Pro. Vision Pro is a first generation immersive headset. The technology will grow over time. When the fifth or sixth generation is coming out you’ll no doubt be hoarse insisting it’s death is just around the corner. 😂😂
