“It wasn’t ready yet”?

Don’t be ridiculous, this is a trillion dollar company we’re talking about here. Maybe Apple should take a few billion out of R&D and put it into software development?

OK.

And then what?

Delay visionOS 1.0 until this is implemented?

Add more staff to deliver it faster? (Hint: this doesn't scale linearly. Adding more staff adds more complexity to the process.)

Can someone tell me how on earth they didn’t include this with version 1.0?
They didn't want to delay the product for something they figured wasn't a necessity. 99% of people will use the visual unlock code, so having it available a week later is the general fix for this type of thing.

That’s not how it works. This is a fundamental feature so it’s among the first ones in the development timeline. This is clearly an oversight

Nope. It's just a bug. And was promptly addressed by Apple. Expect more bugs going forward as AVPs get into the publics' hands. They'll also be promptly fixed by Apple.

I know that doesn't nicely dovetail with your belief that Apple is stupid and simply "forgot."

Try and find some happiness in that Apple promptly addressed and fixed the bug. I realize that may be tough to be on-board with that.

I'll say it again, trillion. dollar. company and to quote Steve "Are you getting it yet?".

So Apple didn't want to delay vision pro and instead wanted to look like a company that sends half baked products to market?

If you think "in the 1.0, resetting the password requires bringing it to support" makes a product half-baked, then yes, they happily shipped it half-baked.

Well I guess it does, not to mention Apple has been releasing flakey software for their other devices of late so it looks like it doesn't phase them in the slightest even though people on these forums have been complaining about bugs, bugs, bugs.

Yes. This is a minor feature as well to complain about. The fact it doesn't have a real functioning virtual keyboard is far worse.

A bug is something that doesn’t work correctly. Learn what a word means first. There was no option to do it, it wasn’t a bug, it was an oversight that they have corrected now

Yes it is.

This is no different than the first iPhone not having 3G, iPhoneOS 1.0 not having the ability to move apps between pages, iOS not having copy and paste until 3.0, or folders until 4.0, and so forth.

Apple ships when the important stuff is ready. I assure you they didn't "forget" to add this. They simply decided it didn't need to make the cut for 1.0.x.
All your examples have nothing to do with this. There was no 3G because it was a new product and they decided it wasn’t worth it. It’s not like they could add 3G with a software update so I don’t even know why you mention it. iPhone 1.0 didn’t have the ability to move apps because again, there was no point. There wasn’t an AppStore, all the apps where provided by Apple and they were less than 10. Copy paste was just Apple not knowing how to do it, even Steve Jobs said so in the conference, they weren’t the first to implement it but they thought they were doing it better. Folders is more of the same, another oversight. They did it because they pressure they were getting from android.

I mean, you are just proving my point lol. Now, not having the ability to reset a device if you forget your password and having to go to a store when a lot of people don’t have a store close to them is pretty ****ing clearly an oversight.

Everyone knows, even Apple that this is half baked. But not having basic functionality it’s on another level.

Really? Do you fell better now? You may be shocked that you're not the only person here who knows what the word "bug" means.

The reset feature was there from the beginning. It simply didn't work and was not caught in testing, likely because testers remembering their passcode.

Which is exactly the same as this situation.

It’s not like they could add 3G with a software update so I don’t even know why you mention it.

Because it's an example of something that didn't make the cut for the first version.

So they decided that the ability to reset your device, something that every device has, from apple or any other company, wasn’t worth it? They preferred for people to go to a store even if it it’s hundreds of miles away just to reset the device? My god. You people are something else. You can’t even accept a simple oversight. You are one of those that can’t never admit when it’s wrong.

They decided it wasn’t worth delaying 1.0 by a month.

You can’t even accept a simple oversight.

If it was an oversight, that doesn’t really change the result. At the end of the day, someone decided “let’s not delay this for something so minor; we can always add it for 1.1, especially since we’re only shipping to the US for now”, either during alpha stage or during late-stage testing.
