That’s a very opinionated idea of computing directly antagonistic to how Apple has set-up majority of their personal computing devices to be very personal devices that don’t even support multiple users on the non-enterprise/edu versions of the device such as the iPad and iPhone.

What are you talking about? I can show a photo, a movie or play a track from both my iPhone and iPad to somebody(ies) next to me. Further, I can plug both my iPhone and iPad into a huge screen via HDMI, enhancing this experience even further. Can I do it with Apple diver’s mask, aka AVP? Nope, I cannot, so right now it is a virtual bubble for an individual consumption.

…You’re talking and glossing over my point while proving my point at the same time.

I would precisely use my iPad, iPhone, and Vision Pro (via airplay) on a TV to share content with them being designed optimize specifically for that—not those very personal devices themselves.

Spatial computing simultaneously enables content like spatial photos/videos that is best consumed individually.

For a spatial computing equivalent to a TV, you basically want holographic displays.

Not everyone wants to optimize their computing primarily for the consumption of others–especially prosumers and productive computer users.

Apple Vision Pro users could soon be able to scroll through content with their eyes, according to Bloomberg. Apple is working on a visionOS 3 feature that would eliminate the need for hand gestures when browsing websites, reading, and more.

The Vision Pro already supports navigating through the operating system by looking at an item and then using a hand gesture to "tap" it, so eye-based scrolling would be a natural extension of that existing functionality. Apple plans to add eye scrolling capabilities to all of the built-in apps on the Vision Pro, and it is developing APIs that will let developers do the same.

There are multiple cameras in the Vision Pro that are used for eye tracking purposes and for iris scanning, a biometric authentication feature. Apple has experimented with eye tracking on other devices too, with an Accessibility feature on the iPhone and iPad allowing iOS users to look at an onscreen pointer that follows eye movement. With this option, users can look to navigate, and then focus their eyes on one spot to perform a tap action.

visionOS 3 is set to debut at the Worldwide Developers Conference that starts on Monday, June 9.

Headsets will always remain a niche product because a lot of people don’t find wearing a device like this over their eyes and face for an extended period of time to be comfortable. Trying to compare the sales of this device with a smartphone or tablet and then calling it a failure really isn’t a fair comparison. I believe Apple totally understands this is a niche market and only appeals to a small group of customers.

Apple totally understands this and have done this for prosumers successfully for years.

Tim Cook’s explicitly made it clear it’s not a mass-market product aligning with Apple’s highest end prosumer products that don’t make compromises in price, quality, and ideal features for prosumers just to appease mainstream consumers.
