I was watching the GatesNote and all-but leapt out of my seat (where my powerbook was perched on my lap) screaming a whole manner of profanities. Every time they introduced a new "feature" of Vista, I noted it had been ripped off from Apple.
My main problem with this is my friend Steve (not Jobs). Every time we chat about computers we always end up on this whole windows vs. mac thing - I try not to anymore because it's getting tedious. He always sits there telling me how much better Microsoft is, whilst his computer sits behind him slowly dieing from the latest virus he has managed to get it infected with... (literally, we were having a conversation once and the whole thing crashed out)
But I can just see it now. Once he gets his hands on Vista he'll be all like "see what Vista can do?" and i'm going to have to mention that we've been doing it here on Mac OS X for between 1 and 5 years. (Spotlight right through to thumbnails for minimised windows...)
This sucks. Because the tiny part of me that's still a windows user does like the eye-candy. It doesn't look terrible... but the more dominant Mac user part of my personality knows that it's a complete rip-off. It makes me angry![]()
Save yourself the trouble, just show him these clips and be done with it.
