Glad I found this thread! :) I was having this thread as well without knowing it. Removed ultrasn0w and I'm good to go.

I just read this thread and removed ultrasnow and instantly after reboot got my Voicemails pouring in!

funny story....i called ATT about noon today to ask about the VM issue, and they said they had been getting inundated with calls about visual VM as of 8/4

Im guessing that is the day ultrasnow was released!!!

LOL

Ultrasn0w is not causing the problems with visual voicemail. I did a full restore and set up my phone as new and rejailbroke it and unlocked it using ultrasn0w. Now everything works fine including visual vm. Im suspecting that either sbsettings or winterboard might be the cause. Prior to my restore, i even tried uninstalling those programs but still no visual vm.

But there are several people in this thread, including myself, who have immediately fixed their visual voicemail problems by uninstalling Ultrasn0w. I didn't have SBsettings or Winterboard installed when I installed Ultrasn0w and stopped receiving voicemail messages.

Maybe its another jb app or combination a combination of ultrasn0w and another app that is causing this problem. I now have a freshly restored phone with ultrasn0w that works with visual vm just fine now.

Have you tried sending an mms? Also try using faceTime.
When I had Ultrasn0w installed mms would just hang and never finish. Then tried faceTime, the other person could see me fine, but on my side it was just blank.

facetime and mms work fine...i did have a problem with mms the first time i jailbroke but it was fixed after resetting network settings. After i restored and jailbroke, mms or facetime did not go away

easiest way to get it working is to call your cell # from another phone, and leave a voicemail. when you're done, a password prompt will pop up, and when you've entered your password, everything should work again.

So weirdly enough, after I did Reset Network Settings and a reboot, all of my voicemails showed up. But I still wasn't getting new ones.

Uninstalled ultrasn0w though, rebooted, and now everything's working again.

I had this same problem when I used ultrasn0w to unlock my 3GS several months ago, but I needed to keep the unlock. I think I could get it all to work if you do a fresh Restore and set your phone up as new.

Same here. Removing Ultrasn0w fixed visual mail.
Hopefully there will be an UltrasnOw fix.

(I did try the other fixes mentioned above - resetting network, leaving visual voice open - but none of these worked until I removed Ultrasn0w)

You should call up AT&T and have them reset your Visual voicemail inbox.
You shouldnt have to use a workaround for something you're paying for.
I went to the Apple Store, talked to an AT&T rep at a kiosk at the mall, and also talked to an AT&T rep on the phone. Nothing they tried worked.
Had same problem. But solved itself.

Just leave your visual voice mail open and it'll ask you for password after awhile.
I've reset my password numerous times and also have left it at the VVM screen. Neither worked. From what I've read, this issue came up from people who'd jailbroken previous iPhones and then restored from backup when they got the iPhone 4. I believe that restoring and starting a new profile would work, but I'm not willing to do that.

You will probably have to do a restore and rejailbreak again to fix that.
Up to you though.

Just so you know, I've had previously jailbroken iphones and restored from backup with my iphone 4 and my voicemail worked great until I jailbroke and installed ultrasn0w. Once I removed ultrasn0w my visual voicemail came back, so the restore from backup did not cause a problem for me.

I can now confirm that voicemail alerts and visual voicemail for new messages is gone after unlocking. My old messages are still there but i do not get alerts when new vm comes in, nor do they appear on my visual vm list. Hopefully the makers of ultrasn0w are aware of this issue and are working on a fix.

Same as some other posters, I had JB'd & unlocked last week...was told that people had left messages but they didn't show up in visual voicemail.

As others suggested, I tried "Reset network settings" at least 8 times, tried rebooting, etc. VV wouldn't let me update my greeting or password, seemed to time out and have trouble communicating, etc.

Called AT&T, the guy was pretty knowledgeable, tried several things, finally got it working ONCE after he reset something....then I rebooted my phone and it stopped working again.

Ended up RESTORING my phone... ...re-jailbroke, and VV worked...:)...unlocked with Ultrasnow and VV STOPPED WORKING. Good news is that rather than restoring again, I just went into Cydia and uninstalled Ultrasnow, VV immediately started working again.

Guess I'll wait to unlock until I go on that trip to Germany! :D Hope this helped someone...

There's a lot of people complaining about Visual Voicemail not working right now, including myself. I have not jailbroken my iPhone, nor has my wife. All the iPhone owners at her office are also not getting voicemails pushed to them...

I've posted a thread about this, not related to jailbreaking

https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=10851979#post10851979

I tend to think this is more likely an AT&T issue for me. I had problems before and after JB, and I did NOT unlock the phone when I JB'd.

I can't get the VV password popup to show though, unlike some at the beginning of this thread; tried jumping in and out of VV, tried leaving it on the VV window for quite some time. I reset the password through settings, nada. Reset the network settings, no result. Guess I'm just going to have to keep an eye on missed calls for a while until this sorts itself out.
