Oh good lord.

Can we trust these TV sets though? Televisions have a horrible track record for keeping our data secure. I assume that AirPlay 2 and HOmeKit being Apple technology, they’re all having to adopt the same hardware & best practices to keep our houses more secure than some other off the shelf smart home stuff.

Is there a compatibility list?

I have and love my two high end Vizios and would love to update just for this:

Siri:

On/off
Volume and mute
Automation support (turn off tv at 10pm)

hey I dont need a lot just these! :)

I'm looking for the model list as well, can't seem to find it. But the wording is always "coming to SmartCast TVs"... which go back to 2016 I think, when they had replaced their remotes with those Android tablets for a period of time.

We just bought a new Vizio so this will be great. I barely use my Apple TV now because it is not 4K compatible. It is an older version. I have several 4K movies on my iPhone X. It would be great to play them on my TV at full resolution.

AirPlay supports 1080P max, last I checked, no 4K.

eventually they'd have to integrate it as a feature, same has been going for airprint for a long time now.

I'm still waiting for my promised email from Vizio telling me how to install the beta firmware for my TV.

It's been weeks now.

Tick tock.

But did you receive your notice of your option to participate in the class action privacy lawsuit settlement? ;-)

TV's not connected to the net right now, but I did see the site linked in a news story. I bought the set in April of 2018, though, so it doesn't apply to me.
