hey guys im just getting a old g4 powermac going and was looking for some apps i use on my macbook and cant seem to find a version of vlc player for my outdated os. can anyone point me in the right direction?

Yes, no VLC for OS 9.
Doesn't your DVD Player app work?
The OS 9 version of the DVD Player can be downloaded here - http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/apple-dvd-player
There's even a patched version of the DVD Player on that page, if you have a non-Apple DVD drive in your Mac.

Ah, I see you have one of the PB G3 with the decoder card for viewing DVDs.
Are you sure that your DVD drive is still working?

DeltaMac: I think you are replying to a post I made on this thread in error and then couldn't figure out how to delete so I just edited it to say "Interesting".

That said, your suggestion is welcome and I will try installing the patched version of the DVD Player to see if that helps (even though my DVD player is original to my Powerbook AFAIK). By the way, I'm just assuming it works okay + I've tried this in two different Powerbook G3 Lombard Bronze keyboard 400MHz laptops (using the same Hard Drive) and it didn't work in either. I'm guessing it has something to do with my install of OS 9.2.2.

This is the thread I intended to post my reply on (and ultimately did): https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...bronze-keyboard-400mhz.2111137/#post-25911183
