No point arguing this. The capitalism vs socialism argument has been going on for centuries and will not be resolved here. You believe what you want and I will do the same. And it was never the point of this thread, which, by the way, I started.

I agree with you on all that. I'm glad we can have a civil and respectful disagreement.

For that matter, I'll get back on topic and say that I really wish Dolby ends up working something out with the developers of VLC.

Maybe they could just have a paid version of VLC with the codec included for those who want to have sound with their videos, or it could be added as an in-app purchase. I would have bought it if it meant retaining full functionality. As it is I bought another app that does the same (AVPlayer).

And you should do the same. You will henceforth be ignored.

Guys, it IS possible to deploy an IPA signed for another person. Discussing it, however, would result in being banned as the same method can be used to use for pirating commercial IPA's. This is why I haven't linked to tutorials explaining how this can be done.

What they did by giving in to some dumb licensing requirement was to greatly reduce the usefulness of my devices and there was no warning saying that the update would cause harm.

Did you pay for VLC ? No ?

You want all those features, pay for it.

Try Infuse3 and pay the pro version.

Um... no. He's right.

This I'm right you're wrong crap has to stop. Believe what you like
Goodbye.

You didn't read my prior posts, evidently. I already bought another app and suggested that it should be added to VLC as a paid option.

Just trying to help. If you want to deny the truth then that's your issue. Don't take it out on me.

It's not a matter of denying the truth but disagreeing on what the truth is. We will never agree so just drop it already. If this keeps up the moderator will likely step in and close the thread permanently.

Just sayin.

Oh, and just so we're clear, it isn't my problem if your thread gets closed because you protest against sound advice off posters who are just trying to help.

That can't be right. I can hardly imagine that the people behind AVPlayerHD and Infuse would afford those licensing fees.

I can also hardly imagine that.
Aside from those two iOS apps there is also another great app called nPlayer which also has official AC3 support although it lacks a few great features that Infuse 3 Pro has.

Maybe they have a different agreement where they pay the fees per unit sold instead of a flat fee.

Just as well I still have my old .ipa stored away then.

On Android it doesn't bother me since there are plenty of other good video players like mxplayer or bsplayer. Android is a lot better in having the flexibility of being able to get apps from web links and other non-store sources, though sacrificing some security in the process.
