If you were my age or older you would very likely know her because she was one of a handful of supermodels in the 1990s. Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Elaine Irwin, Naomi Campbell. I might have forgotten one or two of them. They also starred in George Michael's "Freedom" video (before he came out).

Agreed. I was shocked when I read a lot of comments (I don't remember where), after the special event, slamming her and Apple and saying how is she relevant and a lot of other negative things. It was if she was supposed to go die somewhere because she was too old. Puh-leeze. Who were they supposed to get? Kim Kardashian? (*retch*). Oops, I guess I'm being mean now.

Agreed. I was shocked when I read a lot of comments (I don't remember where), after the special event, slamming her and Apple and saying how is she relevant and a lot of other negative things. I've only heard of Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell. I only know Christy because of this and I think she's a great endorsee.
 
Turlington is a fashion legend and as far as I know also a really great person. I think Apple made the right choice and that she is a great fit for the watch. She looked stunning in the conference, pure class and elegance.

I have a question. When Apple said one can send a hearbeat to another through watch to watch, does it mean, an actual heartbeat as in the beats from your watch Tactile sensors that is matching with your partner one?

I think that is exactly why Apple choose her to endorse the Watch. And I agree with them, she is the perfect choice.

It's your actual heartbeat at the moment measured by heartbeat sensor on the watch, so your partner will know whether you're being bored or being excited. :p

Being nearly 40 I am well old enough to be aware of models in the 90s. Guess she was just more known in the US.

She is one of the first wave of Supermodels. (There is no such a thing before her. She is generation 1)
She always has this "hi-class" feeling about her even then. I love her when I was a kid but I also love everyone else in the group. :D
