Believe it or not, I downloaded Global Protect from the iOS Appstore and it works flawlessly!
This is the exact question i had in mind because like others say palo alti is not quick with these thinns but if it works on my phone i was wondering will it work on the mac m1. Great to see this post.

I can install and run the Any Connect software just fine on my MBA but unfortunately I don't have an actual VPN I can try the connection with. It installs and registers the network filter okay and I have to go into security prefs and approve the extension.

Perfect. I just need to get mine and confirm then. From what I’m finding, sounds like it’ll all work just fine.

I got a bit further and found out the URL for the Cisco one some folks use where I work and it connected but I failed the posture check as it is a personal device. I think it will work fine. So far I also have Wireguard and Windscribe working fine as well.

I use PrivateVPN at home. No problems with the software and also no problems manually setting up the vpn without using the software on my M1 Mini.

I am having issues with Barracuda VPN Client. It was running well under Big Sur 11.0.1 on my MB Air 2018 (Intel) but it will not work on my new MB Air 2020 (M1) also on Big Sur 11.0.1. Has anyone been successful connecting using Barracuda VPN Client on an M1 Mac? The program installed and runs. But, it will not connect; Errors include: "Open Failed: No Such File Or Directory" and "Open tap device" error. I am sure that the connection configuration is exactly the same on both machines.

Is there an iPhone app that exists for Baracuda? I know I did not even try to install the client on my new M1 that I use for my intel based Mac, but if you have a Phone Client that works I would try that.

Anyone got Cisco Any Connect working on M1? Without it I can’t work

This is what I was going to try when I get my M1 MBP, hopefully this week.

Gents, I took the plunge today and bought an M1 MBA. Can confirm that I am connected at the moment through AnyConnect via my work's VPN.

I have ordered a M1 MacMini. Its going to take 3-4 weeks says Apple, probably because I upped it to 1TB and 16gigs of RAM.

Anyhow once I get it I will install the latest PaloAlto Networks Global Protect client via Rosetta and see how it goes. Maybe they will come out with a native client by then....oh wait this is PaloAlto :). The other option would be to see if the iOS client would install and work, which is amazing if you think about it. So many developers just got access to the Mac and they do not have to learn the Intel development tools.

I use the original wireguard client with a settings file from my vpn provider. For me this works fine. Even killswitch works.

AnyConnect 4.6 installs and runs off my corporate VPN site out of the box from the distributable for the macOS. It does not for quite some time for my main pro grade iMac workstation with 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, but then terminal with openconnect line does. The major drawbacks for me so far are the lack of RDP server on my Mac mini M1, and inconsistent state of screen sharing service (well, consistently broken, when waking up, needs to be restarted). This Mac mini M1 has to be able of going headless steady, dear Apple, otherwise thanks for the fine product.

Global Protect works fine with Rosetta. Same for Jump Desktop and MS RDP.

I use wireguard protocol and wireguard client and have a real ipv6 from my vpn provider, works very fast, sometimes only 22ms ping but thats ok for me.

VPN Software: Viscocity
Its open source and works for both Mac and Win

VPN Service: Mullvad
The safest VPN service I've found if you still wish to use p2p services. If not use ProtonVPN but many p2p won't work since you cant port forward on them. Mullvad is the same one Mozilla Firefox uses. It's also recommended by privacytools.io .
