Is anyone using their Mac as a VPN server?
This is what I am looking for as well. I now run the server.app on an old Mac. I haven’t found any useful information on making my Mac mini m1 into a vpn l2tp server.

Not ideal - but if I need just browsing VPN - I use Opera browser.
Still on Rosetta, but its Chromium based and.

i use bolehVPN as a public vpn and it has DNS issues.

the new 2.50 version of pfSense switched from openVPN to wireGuard. pfSense is on the way out?

the whole thingy about VPN is stelth, othwise why bother.
you might want to pcik a public vpn that does their banking and tech outside the country you reside in.

might want to inclue your iPhone as well

FWIW I've been using the iPadOS version of Cisco AnyConnect with my work's VPN and it's great.
Are you using it on an M1 Mac? Only the legacy version of Anyconnect is available on the App Store, and when I try to install it on my M1 Air, it fails.

I had sideloaded it via iMazing.

At one point I found a deal for lifetime/infinite access to VPN Unlimited. If I use a VPN it's mainly for work (Cisco AnyConnect side loaded from my iPad), and TBH my only experience with a VPN outside of that is with VPN Unlimited. That's stills translated through Rosetta 2 right now, though. It works for me when I want to watch Netflix in a different region or view a URL from somewhere else.. AT one point Will Strafach had some twitter thread about VPNs and how some nefarious companies just use your traffic, browsing history, and information without telling you. Or maybe they're not truly anonymous like they say they are. He looked into VPN Unlimited for me when I asked, and said that I wouldn't need to worry about them. That was a while ago, though, things change..

But for how little I've used it, it's worked quite well. I usually always get good speeds.

I am having issues with Barracuda VPN Client. It was running well under Big Sur 11.0.1 on my MB Air 2018 (Intel) but it will not work on my new MB Air 2020 (M1) also on Big Sur 11.0.1. Has anyone been successful connecting using Barracuda VPN Client on an M1 Mac? The program installed and runs. But, it will not connect; Errors include: "Open Failed: No Such File Or Directory" and "Open tap device" error. I am sure that the connection configuration is exactly the same on both machines.
Same issue here, worked on 2018 Macbook Pro Big Sur 11.2.3, not working on Macbook Air 2020 (M1) Big Sur 11.2.3.

it looks like Barracudo.com/support is generious. Might conisder opening a support case or calling them.

I got Norton 360 when I bought my Macbook Air M1. Installed it with the Norton VPN coming with that. Works fine for me but don't have any comparisson.

The whole Norton 360 package is working fine on M1, al bout all apps I tried, with and without Rosetta.

Apple axed away several server functions with every other OS update, including VPN server. You have to use 3rd party stuff which are mostly commandline, or something with a GUI but is paid-ware.

Using CyberGhost.

when it works it works, but sometimes the connection cuts and the app closes, and my torrenting just continues. Not really safe
