I cancelled my edge order with no problems and reordered different color and paid full price. Decided against edge.
May work for some but I actually want to be on edge. Makes it easier for me to switch devices more often with less of a chance my wife will kill me lol.
I did the same thing. I also found it helpful because it gave a sense of how many places did not have phones and what models were available. It is why I cancelled my previous order and got one from Apple. Was not the color I wanted but it was a plus and a 64GB phone. Good luck.
I would think you could try the backend way with that as well but if not...

It appears we're all caving in or on the verge of doing so and just getting the 6+, storage capacity we want and just saying the hell with the color.
While I wanted my gold 6+ oh so bad, just finally having a phone is just a big* relief!

Remember this was also Golden Week which may have slowed the work, shipping in China. They should be back to work now.

I had already filled out the firm and received the materials. The guy did check the account and posted the credit on the account. In the paperwork all that seemed to matter was a new iPhone purchase and the request before Sept 30. As I said, I had also been in a couple of times so they recognized me. Don't know if that made a difference. Anyway, there is the credit on my bill. That may also have made a difference. I didn't want the gift card but credit on my bill.
very true about Golden Week, but from what I have seen, Foxconn usually doesn't stop/slow down. However, from looking at UPS prollems over on the apple thread, it appears there was a slow down because of something. Some orders sat for 3-4 days.
Nothing on my end....I won't have a CC charge, but no change in my status. Things have come to a crawl this week. As Richgirl said before, and I agree, its going to take a few more days for Fedex to catch up IMO. There are 3 planes inbound from China orgins. The biggest one coming from Shanghai. The weather messed up stuff at memphis last night, so maybe something overnight tonight or tomorrow? I really hope/think we might get some kicks in the butt movin' next week. Maybe everyone who ordered up to the 15th can really get some moving next week.
I'm counting on that 777. I ordered on the 17th though/: I hope your wrong lol jk.
and honestly, I could easily be wrong. I am super counting on that 777 as well. We all have to remember that there is a TONS more peeps that are NOT on MR, so verizon could have super pumped out orders today and yesterday. However, at least that 777 is running more frequently.
Just another update. My iPhone 6 that I ordered on Monday night arrived Thursday afternoon. I originally had ordered a 16GB Gold iPhone 6 but saw that the 128GB were available immediately as opposed to mid October on Verizons website, so I called customer care and made the change no problems.
Ive got plenty, and I mean plenty, of space, but the main point is I have the phone, and its future proof. For those still waiting for a 6, if you don't mind paying a little more for more space, thats an option for you as well. They may already be backordered on those as well though.
I did mine on Edge, and lowered my data plan because of the extra space and the 1GB promotion, so I basically paid $2 more a month for more space for the same phone. Your price may very as I have a %20 discount on mine.

I have been reading though that some of Foxconn's problems see that the Chinese are not as willing to do assembly line work. This may carry over to expecting vacation time.
Ok, so I was a little bored at work before our 11pm newscast tonight. I found the routes that go in and out of Shanghai, which IMO, is probably the best route/option for bringing in our iphones. It basically runs from Shanghai...to Memphis...then that plane goes back out to Narita then it goes back to Shanghai and returns the route. So, it also appears its running everyday now.

Just joined after following this thread for weeks, my original order was placed on 9/23 for 6+ 16gb ETA on 10/31, but after reading more about it I decided to change the order for a bigger capacity, so I reordered 6 + 64gb on 9/27 ETA on 11/7. After endless days and nights of waiting and waiting I called my local verizon store today just for the fun of it checking on availability. For my surprise they got 3 6+ which 2 where sold and just one SG 128gb available. I drove at 110MH to get there, I'm happy to say that I've typed this on my beloved brand new 6+ SG. It seems verizon stores are starting to get them but are not telling customers. Good luck hunting guys. Also I signed for the edge program. I hope this helps one of you still looking.
THIS IS VERY TRUE! A bunch of stores the past few days have gotten a quite a bit of shipments. Apple is moving these units!
