I was using someone's open wifi at my office building until today. It's now passworded, so I'm cut off. I'm considering adding a $49.00 AT&T 3G iPhone to my plan with the $15.00/mo data charge. any thoughts? anyone have it? anyone know the guys password?

First, I'd recommend geting an iPhone 4, even if you buy the refurbished one for $99 on att.com

Three, also realize that the 15/ mo plan is capped to 200MB. I'm not sure what you use your iPod for, but if you are streaming music all day, the 200MB is going to be a problem

Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between sarcasm/humor and outlandish requests, especially on the web. Considering that we actually do see people asking how to break into wi-fi networks, it can be hard to tell for sure if you're serious.
The $15 is just a data addon which is added on top of your voice plan. Also, it includes only 200Mb so streaming music all day will be a problem.
