Reinstalling Twitter fixes this at least temporarily. Are you sure this is an iOS bug?
Well seeing as it worked fine before installing the beta (and works on all my other devices running IOS, MacOS, iPadOS) it doesn't seem to be an app issue.

Someone can make an observation like this while also not complaining about the 'delay.' You'd think otherwise based on the comments in here.

edit: Look no further than the post below this one, haha.

Is this the latest manufactured outrage? iOS betas are not released as per assclown Gurman’s expectation. **** Gurman the certified moron.

I actually installed the current beta on my XR, and aside from some lag with animations (which could either be the XR itself or the beta), it's been fine. Still not brave enough to install it on my 13 mini, but I'm certainly excited.

The new lockscreen is fine, but I love the haptic keyboard most, personally.
I have to check mine again. I definitely remember turning on haptics for the keyboard but haven't felt anything. Only issue I have other times is when I first open GMail, it won't respond to swiping. And what's worse is it will do it, so if I do multiples swipes, it will delete the messages moving to the top as each on finally deletes.

What is buggy for you with 15.6? It is rock-solid for me.
I am noticing all sorts of little things in regular use. Last night I posted about specifically not being able to search for the word “police” on a webpage in safari. I can’t reproduce the behavior with any other word.

I skipped the article and went right for the replies… I love you guys/gals that much.

Excited for an update but I’m running smoooooth. So I’ll probably wait to update until I know it won’t cause more issues than the few I already have.

*happy dance* 🕺

No problem with “police” here either. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I figure it must be pretty solid considering the first public beta came out over 2 weeks ago and there haven't been any critical updates since.

and here I am with a MBA without a Network tab in system preferences. ended up reinstalling the entire beta by wiping, upgrading, and I still dont have a working network tab. this has been exceptionally buggy for me on my MBA and iPad, but my iPhone and MBP have been ok. my work MBA I usually update when the PB releases is still on 15 due to the issues.

ios16 has almost zero new real features. How this can be slow is beyond me. Then again that's be the case for the last five ios releases, none of which launched with the features showcased at WWDC.

iOS 16 beta testers have now waited longer for the fourth developer beta version than any new full iOS release since iOS 6 and iOS 7.

The minor landmark, highlighted on Reddit, was hit when Apple did not release the fourth beta version of iOS 16 yesterday. In 2012 and 2013, both iOS 6 and iOS 7's betas were in their third version for 21 days, the same as iOS 16's third developer beta as of today.

If the fourth beta version of iOS 16 is not released later today, iOS 16's third beta version will become the longest ever ".0" third beta of its kind. Regardless of exactly when the fourth beta version is seeded to developers and public beta testers, it is highly likely to occur sometime this week.

Most indications suggest that the development of iOS 16 has not been quite as smooth as recent years, with beta releases often not conforming to the patterns that have come to be expected of Apple based on previous years. Earlier this year, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman speculated that the beta versions could be running behind since internal seeds are currently a "bit buggy."

As rumored, iOS 16's public beta version was late this year. iOS 16's public beta became available on July 11, over two weeks later than the equivalent timeframe for iOS 15's first public beta last year.

Initial betas are often riddled with bugs that need to be fixed, which is why Apple goes through a months-long beta testing period before the updates are officially released to all device owners in September. Apple often recommends beta testers run the new software on a secondary device due to these issues.

my only complaints so far are

1. iPhone 12 pro gets hot when using apple podcast/music and apple maps at the same time.
2. My cellular data seems to be a lot slower or doesn't work when showing multiple bars of service.

I think “almost zero” is pretty far off, especially for the 1st PB. And I’m loving the custom/multiple Lock Screen options, search button on the Home Screen, locked hidden and deleted photos just to name a few.

And this isn’t slow if you’re a beta tester, it’s part of the process. I’ll take slower beta releases if the upcoming release is more stable any day.

Imagine being a non tester excited for the ‘almost zero’ features they’re looking for and having to wait for September 😜

The delay was cause by the PB was an updated release on July 11th, and dev beta 3 was originally released July 6th. For MacOS Ventura beta 3 was not great, especially Safari slowness sometimes occurring, so 1 week later when the PB was released something not related to kernel or safari version fixed that issue. Twice I posted that this would likely occur by today. example post, post

Every year is the same ish. We get to the final stable release of an OS (that itself was plagued with bugs in the early builds) only to start over with more bugs on the next release.

Case in point, Monterey was very buggy in the beginning. The new 14” m1 max MacBook Pro had issues with thunderbolt 4 docks in 12.1 (the version it shipped with).

The kernel would invariably crash during resume from sleep if the MacBook was connected to a tb4 dock.

Early thunderbolt firmware on both the m1 iPad pro and MacBook had an incompatibility where the two devices could not connect to each other via a thunderbolt cable… the connection would drop and then connect and then drop ad infinitum. The reason why I wanted to directly connect the MacBook to the iPad was because of another bug… this time with side car. Sometimes sidecar via wifi slows down dramatically and bugs out. Sometimes the sidecar completely freezes. But it works well via a direct connection with a wire. But using a TB cable was a no go.

Then around when 12.3 was released, I got the caldigit TS4 dock. And initially it was a disaster. Kernel panics resumed especially during wake from sleep. There’s still a bug but the way around it is when you restart the machine, if it’s connected to the Ts4, then briefly disconnect the dock for 2 seconds, and then hotplug it, and then it will work normally. Never have I ever had any such thundebolt issues with a pc or prior macintoshes.

Apple resolved many of the problems with 12.4, and 12.5 is even better. They updated the thunderbolt firmware so now the iPad Pro and Macintosh can connect via a TB cable, no problems. Sidecar still is hit or miss via wifi but works beautifully via a direct usb connection. In fact, sidecar on 12.5 and iPadOS15.6 now make the iPad look like an actual monitor, the quality is excellent, and the shadows and transparency effects and so on. Sidecar has been upgraded. Also, no kernel panics from thunderbolt devices during wake from sleep.

But bugs remain. My m1 max is usually docked. If it’s asleep, every hour, there’s a darkwake from sleep. It doesn’t matter if I tweak the power settings to disable power nap or wake for network access. Doesn’t matter. So long as hibernatemode=3, every hour it wakes from sleep. I can’t set hibernatemode to 25 because for some unknown reason, once the m1 max MacBook goes off it severs the connection via its thunderbolt ports. Meaning if it’s in clamshell mode connected to a dock with an external keyboard, you can’t wake the MacBook with the external keyboard. You have to open the mac and wake it up. Prior intel macs didn’t have this problem with hibernatemode=25.

Anyways, 12.5 works far better than 12.1. It is very stable. I’m dreading 13.0 wondering if it’s going to be bug hell all over agin until the spring. I probably won’t update my main disk to Ventura right away, and will test it Ventura an external thunderbolt drive for a few weeks until 13.1 or even 13.2 before I take the plunge.

What apple needs to do is to stop releasing a new OS every year, and move to a 24 month cycle. And give themselves time to develop new features, debug them, and then release them to the public. The bugs I faced on Monterey were the worst I’ve ever faced on a Macintosh ever. Even worse than Catalina which was bad.
