I would argue with what is written in the article. iOS 16 betas so far have been the most stable ones in years, with Beta 3 being of a production quality to me (excluding what is listed as known issues on Apple's website and some edge cases - in general, I have not had issues with it).

Apple releasing DB3 as PB1 makes more sense to me, both as a developer and a user. It also happened within the first half of July which aligns with what Apple promised.

The major issues I have been experiencing are with Safari on macOS Ventura and the Music app (which is already better in Beta 3) on macOS , but these two apps have always had ton of bugs and stability issues on macOS for me.

With that said, I am pretty happy with the beta releases of the new major updates this year and I think Apple is defo doing much better software quality wise, compared to the last year.

Which doesn't mean I'm not hoping for Beta 4! 🤡
I agree with you 100%! iOS16 and iPadOS 16 betas have been the most stable betas Apple has ever put out. I am running on an iPhone 13 Pro Max and 5th Gen iPad Pro. Maybe the experience is different depending on devices. For mine it is solid. Heck even the betas that came out before the public beta worked great for me.

Just want to report, going from beta 3 to beta 4 on iPhone 11 fix my Siri and keyboard dictation problem, have to use the UK language/keyboard work around prior to beta 4, is all good now.

Maybe I’m an anomaly or one of the few 13 mini users, beta 3 is one of the least stable I’ve ever used. Hope beta 4 comes asap

My iPhone 13 mini, iPad min v6 and iPad M1 11" are now upgraded to Beta 4 by 12:00 Arizona time. The 2021 M1 MacBook Air 16/1TB has completed the upgrade to Beta 4 for MacOS 13.

This year's betas have been more solid than previous. Seems like Apple is taking time to get issues fixed rather than fixing the release schedule, which I wholeheartedly agree with.

That can only mean one thing. They are unsatisfied, as it doesn't meet the usual Apple bug consistency, and are waiting to inject some new buggy features before releasing the next beta.

I really hope the bug that killed posting gif-animations with the Twitter app on iOS and iPadOS will be fixed in the next public beta. The only issue I've experienced.
Agree. Not seeing a ton of bugs for me but that one is super annoying.
The Twitter/GIF bug seems to be fixed in Public Beta 2!

Yep. So glad they fixed that!
