I just looked at the new broadwell rumors, posted today. I am suddenly thinking of buying a haswell macbook pro, lol!

Nothing? Well, Intel recently did their "Keynote" and they said actively and passively in all ways that they'd release Skylake in 2015 Q4 and there wouldn't be delays, nothing like Broadwell. What's more, they recommended waiting 6 months after Broadwell for those who wanted to see a real jump. Google it.

If Intel do release Skylake in 2015 Q4, then I wouldn't expect to see it in rMBP until 2016. I think seriously the next upgrade will include Broadwell cpu, and likely Apple will release an updated rMBP sometime by June or October next year.

Only one upgrade per year people, they aren't going to upgrade in June with Broadwell and 4 months later switch to Skylake. That's no gonna happen. My two cents for a rMBP with Broadwell onboard next year, and in 2016 we will see Skylake.

Personally I would buy now, actually I've got a 15' rMBP with dGPU, 1/2 TB SDD, and 16GB RAM in February and I couldn't be happier. I will not consider an upgrade till Skylake or forward.

I want to wait till June (guessing) for the updated rMBP 15" but... I might just give in. If I go to the Apple Store and feel the Iris Pro 5200 only model isn't that laggy, I could get one ordered.

Well I was tired of waiting for the latest and greatest, so I decided to pull the trigger and ordered and received it yesterday and I am definitely loving it.

Probably my next upgrade would be in about 3 years or so, it just does not make sense for me to be upgrading yearly just for the sake of having something new everytime plus I don't have any disposable income :)

Apple already did some upgrades of that kind with Air. Anyway, the question would be: will Apple go Broadwell and then Skylake or move forward to Skylake?
On the other side, from Intel perspective, there are some articles that analyze this possibility of having 2 Mid-High end releases in the same year, and it's plausible.
For example, MBP 2010 13" had a shi*ty C2D made in 2008 until 2011 early release that they used i5 and i7. I don't see why Apple would care about having Haswell for a year and a half until they swap to Skylake, now that the performance difference between one and other iteration is 10%, and taking into account that Broadwell might not be still ready to handle a good Air redesign (fanless and all that stuff that people are craving to see, despite not being necessary). Who knows
