how long after your credit card was charged did you move out of the "processing" stage?
I have a delivery date between nov 18-24 so same time frame, and they just finally charged my card today (pending)

Mine arrived yesterday Nov 5th, original estimate was Nov 5 to Nov 10, so pretty accurate.
Nov. 6, Day 6.
No change. “Arrives Dec 8-Dec 15”
Day 4 of “processing”.
Ordered on Oct 18.
Defective 16” M1Pro MacBook 10cpu/16gpu, 32gb ram, 2tb SSD (1” bottom of screen flickering horizontal bars; changed to almost total black screen 24hrs later) delivered on 11/1.
6-8 hrs spent on phone on 11/1 and 11/2).
Apple decides “return/replace”.
I’ll update daily…

No change. “Arrives Dec 8-Dec 15”
Day 5 of “processing”.
Ordered on Oct 18.
Defective 16” M1Pro MacBook delivered on 11/1.

Mine arrives tomorrow. Once it got out of China, it took, counting tomorrow, 4 days.

Day 6 of “Processing”.
By comparison:
On 10/18, original order stayed on "Processing" for 6 days.
On Oct 24, it switched to "Preparing to Ship".
On Oct. 25, it changed to "Shipped". After a number of changes, it settled on "Arrives on Nov 3".
On Nov 1, defective 16” M1Pro MacBook delivered.
On Nov 2, Apple decides “return/replace”, having spent 6-8hrs on the phone, 11/1 & 11/2.

No change. “Arrives Dec 8-Dec 15”
Day 7 of “Processing”. It is now taking longer to get past "Processing" than my original order, which was advanced to "Preparing to Ship" after 6 days on "Processing". Apple must be swamped, because I was assured that this would be expedited.
I might call support. Micro-Center informed me they are expecting 16" M1Pro 32gb ram, 2tb, configs December 10.
Update tomorrow.
After procrastinating for so long I have finally ordered! the advantage of waiting so long is 1 of the big chain electronic stores (interdiscount.ch) just started an 11% discount on all new Macbooks! Not only that, they had every configuration possible so could get the 10C CPU + 14C GPU, 32GB and 1TB SSD. Glad I procrastinated now!
Delivery says Nov 30th but I doubt that at all, that is sooner than from the Apple site. As long as it arrives before Christmas, I will be happy.

And it's jumped again. It's set to deliver on Friday! And I'm stuck abroad until the 24th... 12 days of it just sitting there in it's box...

Considering the fast changes, you might still get a sudden suprise... Or, at least, I hope so!

Day 8 of “Processing”.
I called support yesterday. She said that my case indicates this was “expedited”, but that’s not showing on my end. She said it should ship in a day or so. And that once it ships, it should take 2-4 days. Good news. I had hoped it would ship today, but nope. Still processing. I have to admit a bit of envy, when I see so many having ordered multiple configurations and received them all. Typing this on my 11” M1 iPad Pro. I really miss working on my Audio files and ProTools sessions… I have a copy of DaVinci Resolve Studio (with the FREE speed editor!) just waiting To be installed too…

BTW, I MIGHT be able to find out exactly what the problem was, if I talk to someone from tech. It was returned to Carlisle, Pa.; which is a service center. I do know they looked at it and verified the failure… I’d love to know exactly what it was …

When I called support on 11/9, she said it should ship in a day or two. It hasn't. I haven't called tech yet to find out what was wrong with the one I originally received. I'll let you know if I find out. Interesting that no one has chimed in with the same issue. What are the odds that I am the only one?
Today is Veterans' Day. My Dad served proudly in the US Navy as a young man. It not only changed his life, but I wouldn't be here had he not served. Thank you to all who serve!!!

If you go to the Apple Store and order the same configuration, it says, "Delivers Dec 9 - Dec 16".

No one from here or Apple Insider has relayed any experience regarding delivery of a non functioning M1 MacBook Pro. Beside the fact that I haven’t been able to do any work, one of the more frustrating things is reading accounts of people that took delivery of two, three, even more configurations. Some just to take advantage of Apple’s liberal return policy. Guess I am experiencing a one in a million case…
At this point, it seems pretty clear that despite the fact that the order is replacing your defective computer (which it would've been nice if they had some stock on-hand for these situations), unfortunately, they don't have your model in stock and so you're in the same queue as if you had ordered a new one 14 days ago.
If you check out the massive "Pre-Order" thread which is everyone comparing their estimated delivery dates and following the movement, the general timeline is: about 1-2 weeks before your estimated delivery window, status changes from "Processing" to "Preparing to Ship". Once it ships, and ppl get their tracking numbers, it takes about 4-7 days to clear customs in China (that's the delay right now, hopefully in a few weeks this part clears up), then it moves from Incheon, Korea to Anchorage, Alaska to Louisville, Kentucky in about 24-48hrs (assuming UPS and you're in the US). And then your computer is generally on a truck for delivery 2 days later.
So it's probably not worth the mental stress of checking every day. And just waiting until post-Thanksgiving / late November, when it's more likely there'll start to be some movement. It's a bummer that you're out of a laptop all this time, but unfortunately your situation is one of the unfair downsides of this supply-chain-logjam environment we're in.
