imac i7 2TB 4gb
On FedEx vehicle for delivery, the wait is almost over!!!:):)

order on Nov 11 at 3:29pm

Apple / TNT seem to be quick this time!

- Ordered iMac i5 (2TB HDD, USB KB) : Nov. 18th
- Prepared for Shipment : Nov. 22th
- Shipped : Nov. 23th from Shanghai
- Delivery : Probably Nov. 25th or 26th *hoping*

--> Hurry up guys! :cool:

Ordered i7 on 21/11. Will ship between 27/11 and 01/12, and arrive in the UK 08/12-11/12 (hoping earlier, as over a week to travel is a bit excessive).

FINALLY! My 27" i7 8GB RAM was delivered at 8:44 AM today, a whole day earlier than FedEx had said. I had to get to work, but I am ready to be impressed when I get home and set it up!!:D

Finally got ship notification after almost a month order my i7 8gb 1tb on 10/28
fed x says shipped 11/23 delivery by 11/25. hope it comes in one piece and all is working great. Was your shipping time the same, and it came one day early, or was it longer estimate and it came early? I don't want to miss the truck! my en route time is 2 and half days don't see how it could be faster than that! Also where do you live?

Black Friday

I note that the Black Friday sale has been announced. I could save $100 off an iMac. I would gladly pay $100 *more* to encourage Apple to actually make the damn thing, or £100 in my case.

I do think it would be a bit rich to discount a product when a whole load of us are waiting, especially as they seem to have a habit of fulfilling newer orders in preference to older orders. How annoying to pay $100 for a product and get it after someone orders on Friday. Almost makes me want to cancel my order and re-order on Friday, but I just can't bring myself to do that!

Interesting. My revised delivery date of Thursday the 26th has disappeared from the UPS tracking page again. Maybe it will be here on Friday, in which case I don't need to make any special arrangements.

Or maybe it will be here on Wednesday!
<hopeful look>

I hate UPS.

My package isn't due to come in until Friday now even though it has said Tuesday the whole time. (It still says Tuesday)

I have never had a problem like this with FedEx. UPS always seems to let me down one way or an other.

RAAAAAAAA

I hate UPS too.
This is my tracking information:

It was at an airport 10 minutes from my house, and its gone from there to the other side of the country. Now who knows when I'll get it, or what ASSIGNED CLEARANCE TO NON-UPS BROKER actually means.
It'll probably be damaged or something by the time it gets here.
I had a good reason for hoping it'd be here too, was hoping to surprise my Dad on a video iChat for his birthday.

Stupid UPS. Worst postage company in the world

I'm not sure that that actually means the package has gone to NB. In my tracking information (see upthread), it looks like it bounced back and forth between Mount Hope and Shanghai, but I think some of these locations are just the logical locations where electronic 'paperwork' is considered to take place.

either way there is still no way it will be delivered today anymore.
And for no good reason. It had passed customs, all they had to do was taken to the UPS warehouse downtown, load it on a van and drive it here.
Somehow, they've lost it doing that!

Reseller woes

Nov 11, 3:39pm

I ordered on the 7th November and still have no update at all re: shipping dates. I ordered through a UK reseller and therefore can't ring Apple direct as I have no references to quote. When I speak to the reseller, they say that Apple have told them that they i5 and i7 production lines has been halted pending the delivery of a part from the US. Search me as to what extra component is fitted to machines sold by resellers, but it must be a rare item. I hope it is more memory or something and not the "make the screen yellow" chip.

My i7 just arrived. I'll probably pull it out of the box to test it briefly at work before I get it home to do my Time Machine restore. I'm crossing my fingers.

Cincinnati, Ohio. Also, I ordered on 11/10, so my first thought is Apple needs to better coordinate shipping---you ordered before me, you should get it before me.

Well rang UPS and the guy said it is in their warehouse scheduled for delivery tmrw. Still shows exception and location in NB on their website but i'll believe him...
Sucks that I cannot arrange a pickup tonight since they have to make a delivery attempt before allowing to schedule a pick-up.
How ridiculous is that - it will save them money since they don't actually have to deliver it, and it will save them storing it overnight.
That is a pathetic excuse for a system...

I had to come back to this thread to give those of you still waiting an idea of just what you are waiting on.

The i7 is incredible, and worth every second of the wait.

I got mine about a week ago, and already put it to work.

Encoding video, using iDvd, 35 minute video renders and burns to a disk image in under 18 minutes. That compares to 33 minutes for the dual 3.06 on the same video.

More than a significant speed boost.

It is unfortunate that iDvd is only 32 bit, and doesn't make full use of the quad processors, hopefully Apple will update that in the future.

I did experience a brief screen flicker that has been noticed by a very small minority of i7 owners, but it has not returned in the last forty or fifty hours of heavy use.

Well worth the wait, you will agree once you get yours set up and working.
Good luck
