Apple would buy wholesale. And they would get a discount for purchasing large quantities.
They would get a discount. I bet to differ.

You disagree? You don't think that buying in bulk gets them cheaper prices? It's the way things work. They would get a discount. I bet to differ.

When the rMBP came out the prices were reasonable, at least I thought so. And then next year they became even better. I think the price increase won't be nearly as bad as you think.Of course I do, but Apple will still sell it for what it's worth, attempting to make the highest profit.
We all know Apple![]()

Apple has always charged heaps for upgrades though, no? So naturally SSDs would be exorbitant. But displays are not really so much an upgrade.Well, that is not what happened with SSDs, no ?insanely overpriced upgrades.
4K display's different than Apple Retina marketing hype.
I appreciate your optimism and can do nothing but cross my fingers.
I'm waiting for retina iMac. Who is with me?
I don't need an iMac, but I always like the design and I'll definitely buy one with retina display just to use it as a media center.
The question is not IF.. it is WHEN.
I'm not alone in this, right?
So... 2014... Feb, Jun or Sep-Oct-Nov?
That's retail, not wholesale. And they can only charge that because it's one of the first few 4k displays to be released. Who knows the profit on each one?
