Its really not that heavy. I use mine for hours without any problems. My 76 year old grandfather has no problems with his either.
(BTW we both have the original heavier one;))

Plus iPad3 will most likely shed the same weight as iPad2 did compared to the original.

I'm going to wait for the iPad 27. I hear it will be invisible, you will be able to control it with your brain and it will even wipe your hiney.

The iPad is close to the weight of the Kindle DX, which is more equivalent in dimensions to the iPad than the 6" Kindle. It's not that heavy, and if you want to buy an iPad now, you can get a new one when it comes out by selling your iPad for nearly the same price as you bought it for. Gotta love the depretistion scale of this thing :)

I wish you could teach me some exercices, you strong man. ;-)

But I'm still thinking that it could be as light as the Kindle (no publicity stunt here).

Do you want it to be black and white too?

I wish it was daylight longer in the winter....like the summer...

GO AWAY.

As a matter of fact, I do have a hernia.

TMI, dude. TMI!

Anyway, I've learned from experience that this whole waiting game is silly. Products, esp. tech products, always gets improved and better, and now manufacturers are pushing them out within months of each other. Life's too short to keep waiting. :)

I am not sure how anyone could say that waiting on the whole is silly.

I have the iPad 1 and choose to wait for the iPad 3 as my iPad 1 works fine and I prefer a new tablet starting next year

Those waiting for the iPad 3 have a variety of reasons to wait...all legitimate

i would agree that the iPad 2 is not much of a departure from the original iPad, but for someone that wants an iPad and has not owned one before, this is a great time to buy.

If you really want one, waiting another 12 months is really going to be a pain.

and if you get one now you should be able to sell it in a year for at least half of the purchase price. for the 16GB wifi model that is about $20/month depreciation, which isnt bad for a piece of technology.

just my $.02

I don't understand such aggressive posts.

I'm just giving my opinion here. Is that forbidden ? It's true that internet brings out the worst of the human species. Those people would never dare to say all the bad things they said here to my face.

Or all those "posters" are simple apple employees paid to bash all "critics" ? That would explain why there are so many incompetent spotty-faced young "geniuses" in those apple stores. They have to make a living obviously.

He he

Thanks for noticing. ;)

Also, I'm posting here because it's an iPod forum. Is it still ? Or it's only for fanboys ??? Tell me, i'm kind of lost.

Glad you pointed that out. I thought I was in the iPad forum. :D
Hey guys, everyone else here is lost. Let's pack it up.

No trolling, just giving an opinion here !

I checked the iPad here in Cambridge, UK. The product is amazing, but for me, it's still a bit heavy. I can't imagine holding it for an hour or more, during presentations for example.

Also, there's a HUGE amount of glare. Especially annoying in such places as an Apple store...

So : I really wanted to buy the iPad, but i think i'll wait for a light model. And please, do something for that glare.

WOOHOO!!!

Another "I'll wait for the iPad 3" thread.

Thanks for making my day. =)

I hope i can save the OP but i doubt it. I will be waiting for iPad 3 since i just picked up couple iPad 1 at really good prices. I got 2 16gb from verizon for $299 + tax. After playing with it and really enjoying it I sold the 16gb to my brother for what I paid and picked up a brand new SEALED iPad 32gb from craigslist for $350 with 4.2.1 and jailbroke it within 5 min. I feel like the upgrade from the ipad 1 to iPad 2 will not be as significant and I should enjoy the product and cost savings and wait till significant upgrades for the future generation.

But the OP doesn't own an iPad. Nothing wrong with waiting, per se, but one could use the same reasonings to wait for iPad 4, 5, 8, or 22. For someone like you who already has an iPad, it's a bit different perspective. You have a "bird in the hand" as the old saying goes.

To the OP, I think you should consider whether you really need or want an iPad. If it's not a big deal, then by all means wait until you see an iPad model with features that pushes you into getting one. But my dad always taught me that it's better to enjoy your life now, and unless the current iPads really don't do what you want or need, I wouldn't base my buying decision on what may or may not be coming in the future, because something better will always lay on the horizon. Better to enjoy yourself now while you are here, than wait for a future that may not come.

Just my opinion.
