That what you get for living in England and shipping from China.

If i'd thought about it a bit more I would probably just suck up the £70 premium for buying it in store. But that £70 is 2GB ram chip and a decent case. I went for the middle one (same as yours).

4 Hours be sure to post pictures and reviews and i'll read them in the morning.

By four hours I meant that it'll leave from its current facility en route to my local one. (It's 18:30 here!)

I hope to finish a programming lab for the most part tonight so I can play with my MacBook at work tomorrow. 😀
 
Well anything to help tide me over for the next two weeks will help (just don't say that it is absolutely amazing😉)

I'm stalking eBay for $500 gaming rig parts? 🙄

There's a CPU that's only 50 miles from here. I might be able to get around shipping.

I bought mine in the Glasgow Apple Store, middle one stock model for £829, however they are doing cashback on a printer offer (wasn't aware of this until I bought it) so I bought a printer I don't need for £60, I've to mail Apple the receipt and they'll send me the £60 back.

I'm then going to punt the printer (an HP with integrated flatbed scanner) on eBay.
 
congrats, i want to look at the price of the one i'm buying at an education discount, but they ask for a password 😛

HE discount isn't as good in store as online/phone.

I got mine middle stock one, applecare, mini dvi - vga for £773.15 Can't be arsed with the whole printer rebate thing.

Rats, I just finished my honours (ahem, mature student) a couple of months ago so I don't have a valid student card. Ah well.
 
I ordered mine on the weekend - upgraded the RAM to 2G for a midrange white one. It's still not yet been shipped. Hope I can receive it sometime this week so I can play with in on the long weekend!

Does the customized machines always take longer to arrive???

Glad I got in and ordered on day 1 - Shipping time now 2wks? Man, I couldn't have coped.

I hope your all ready to answer some questions. As a new mac pal, Ill sure have some "setbacks" whilst learning the OS 😱
 
ordered mine on the 1st, should be getting it on Wednesday. the fedex tracker last updated on 3rd and its in Olive Branch, MS. but when it finally gets here first thing i'm gonna do is uprade the RAM to 2GB. i found a chep ones on newegg.com

preparing to switch

Sunday morning I ordered my first mac (macbook SR 2.2 black, 4GB, 250 GB HD).Delivery expected in two weeks. I grown up as a mac user, but I had to switch to PC 10 years ago because of MS Office "monopoly" in scientific world. Now I'm back. Still I will be forced to use MS Office for a while. Should I buy Vista or XP and run Office 2003 or Office for mac has 100% compatibility with PC-oriented scientific sessions?

I was ordering late last night and I noticed that adding the Mini DVI adaptor in the MB configuration screen set the shipping to 3 days. Completely stupid, so I ordered it separately. This morning it's "Prepared for Shipment".

That is ridiculous, i'll phone apple now and get them to sort it out.
