Well it's over.... after much deliberation, I've bought a rMB.... £1100 for m5 512gb, case, hdmi dongle adapter and applecare til June 2019. It was too good to pass up. I got too scared of what the prices of the new pro may be, and really fancied the portability. Good luck all!
I'd rather take the AppleCare at this point. I need to pay Apple so they actually want to make more Macs.

Good deal. I have been tempted to do the same although will hang out to see what the 13" MBP looks like in terms of weight. A lot of people on this site seem to want it to be a workstation still but I would be happiest with a mid range I5 and a slimmer package. I previously had the MB and the screen was too small and not powerful enough for my needs, but really loved the portability.
I guess I am asking for an updated air really, with retina screen, and look like a 2016 machine rather than 2005.
I can see the screen size being a problem for most, but I've got monitors at home and work, with an hour long commute including a 2 mile walk every day, think this was the way to go. Kinda glad the waiting is over now tbh. Tomorrow is going to be a long day.
