Waiting for Skylake MBP thread

Wife is away, so I'll have to get the kids in bed in the middle of the event! Noooooooooooo!

I hear you... will have to have supper with my kids 30min prior the start of the event and then bringing the kids to bed...
And what worries me most, after all the years waiting I still do not know what to order. 13" would be favorable from a weight/seize perspective but 15" maybe the better choice (with dGPU).
Most likely I will have to take the 13" anyway as I expect very high prices for Germany.

I don't' see how that would be possible, you're talking the time from ordering to out for delivery in just over 12 hours.

highly unlikely we would get them that quick. sometime next week if you are shipping to your home or work address. also depends on if you are doing any configuration changes that can cause the shipping date to be slightly longer. when you go to complete the purchase it should give you a date range when expected to deliver.

OK, I'm starting to get excited as well! But can anyone briefly summarise what we should expect with this launch with regard to internals? Are we looking at Skylake CPU's only? Can we assume an Intel Iris Graphics 550 iGPU for the 13" rMBP and the Iris Pro Graphics 580 for the base 15" model? Are most of us assuming AMD Polaris dGPU's for the high-end 15" rMBP? If so, which graphics chip and how does it stack up against the Iris Pro 580? Is there any chance of Kaby Lake at all on the 13" model, especially if 15W TDP chips are used in a thinner chassis there? Or do we assume Kaby Lake 15W TDP CPU's for the 13" rMB only?

I'm only asking because I don't see a summary anywhere of what to expect. Would have been helpful to have found something on the first page, continuously updated over the course of the rumour mill!

Sounds about right. Would mean slight increase on the cost of the current models. They did the same with the iPad and iPhone (plus models at least).

Lower sales but higher ASP = happy Wall Street

Got exactly the same problem. I want a smaller size this time, but the power of the 15. Price is also relevant

Put your kids to watch some tv or play videogames till the event is over. Be a bad dad for a day!

i think they usually save them towards the end of the event so they dont get overshadowed by like apple tv and whatever else they announcing today. correct me if im wrong.
