With the rumors of very limited availability globally at launch, chances are going to be really, really, really slim.
When the 6/6 Plus came out, I didn’t pre-order as I was changing carriers at the time. I waited briefly at a Verizon store where they had a couple of phones, but not the one I wanted. Ended up not being able to get the phone for a few days and I had to drive 2 hours away to get it. Some people ended up waiting weeks.
The X launch is going to be worse. If your carrier has any options for you despite being on a business plan, I’d try that route first. Not sure how Apple treats business plans and pre-ordering, so nothing to offer there, but if they don’t have restrictions, go for pre-ordering, if you can.
