".....a happy holiday season"! Someone is taking the p*ss here. An analyst using such a phrase is not to be listened to. What next, a buy recommendation because "it's a sunny day", or maybe "the CEO's office is a lovely colour"?

Unless you are within your return/exchange period, who out there replaces a used faulty device with a brand new one?
All the companies I shop at. I can even get a refund for the full purchase price if the device is faulty at any time during the warranty period.

I've had an almost 3 year old TV screen go blue and got a full refund within the 3 year warranty period.
I've had a satnav mount fail within the 1 year warranty period and got a full refund.
If a device is faulty within the warranty I expect and am entitled to a full refund.

As far as apps and connectors go, that is how iOS and iOS devices are designed. A 2-door car also won't allow you to make use of 4 doors that aren't part of it.
eh?

I also used to be able to change the battery in my phone and add extra storage cards.
I also used to be able to do a lot of things with my macs and PCs that I can't do with Apple gear.
So sad really that Apple has gone downhill in terms of customer experience.

You could never do that with iPhones, so it's not like that has somehow changed. Again, that's like going with a carmaker that has a line of sports cars and complaining that they aren't all that family or off-road friendly.

Not really, more like going with a robin reliant 3 wheeler and complaining that it only has three wheels when every other car before it had 4. Yeah it gets you from a to b but does cause the occasional issue

But you decided to go with the 3 wheeler knowing what it is.

Correct, that shiny shiny super brilliant 3 wheeler, but those drawbacks keep niggling at you.
In the case of batteries, not so much, I accept that everything comes with its own drawbacks like waterproofing (apart from Apple only had this one season so far). That is unless there are any waterproof phones out there with removable batteries?

Well, the main point there is that if you know what you are getting when you are going with a 3-wheeler, being upset later that it doesn't have that 4th wheel is kind of silly.

On the face of it yes you are correct. Doesn't mean you can be a bit grumpy when every one points out at work, so hows the lack of SD card going...etc
On their own they are not things to worry about and you give apple a free pass, but as more and more things mount up you start to feel like switching. The last straw for me was the removal of the 3.5mm jack. Now I'm in limbo and not sure what i'll do.

Apple is not only undervalued but also counted out a number of times, over the years this has become the norm. People complain about Apple products and then they go out in droves and buy them, i think people just like something to moan about. The iPhone 7 is a great device with a great camera, the iPad Pro is a great iPad that boarders on a PC replacement for most people. Has the removal of the headphone jack annoyed people, yes it has, but give it year and it will be forgotten about, just like the removal of the DVD and floppy drive on Mac's.

What makes me laugh tho is Samsung took a jab at Apple during their Note 7 announcement in regards to the removal of the headphone jack, now they to are rumoured to be going down the same route.
