Up until a week ago I had two different accounts for the App Store and iCloud. Decided to consolidated both to make things easier. Perfect timing.

Added with no issues. Australia.
How did you do this? As far as I've know, it can't be done.

Good to know. Still waiting for it to be available in other regions

Can anyone confirm this:
As I understand, the new Apple Gift Cards will be automatically added to the Apple Account Card and any subscriptions will be now charged from the Apple Account Card.

In other words this is just a nicer way to see the balance in the Apple wallet and also easier ability to pay via Apple wallet in Apple Store.
Tx.

That's right. At least it was the last time I had a balance on my Apple Account. For me, this wasn't a pleasant experience. I got a bunch of Apple Gift Cards from points on my credit cards and "cashed" them all into my Apple Account to buy a new MBA. But I was waiting for the new model to come out. I didn't know the Apple Account would be used for my Apple One subscription so for months the balance that was supposed to be used for a new Mac was being "eroded" by the Apple One sub (this despite it being previously charged to my Apple Card where I got cash back). I also wasn't able to change the priority of my payment methods either. I guess in Apple's eyes, if you have an Apple Account balance they want it gone as soon as possible. If I were to do this again I would definitely not cash in the gift cards until I was ready.

Note: You cannot get this card if you have different accounts being used for the App Store and iCloud.

Yup. It's an issue.

Back in early days of iCloud, Apple and I had an issue that, seemingly, could only be resolved by dividing my iCloud and Apple Store account into two separate accounts.
I grew to appreciate the security ramifications of that.

Then, in November, my iCloud account (online) began to populate my Contacts with dozens of duplicate Groups / Lists, which then did the same on my Mac and iPhone. Trying to resolve this basically broke several of the upper food chain Apple Support crew - completely flummoxed but acknowledged it was an issue at their end - until I mentioned my second (Store) iCloud account.
With a clean (unsync'd) Contact list on my iPhone, we disabled Contacts on my devices, signed into the Store account and added Contacts there. Sync'd and that account populated with clean list from the iPhone. This than moved to my Mac. My master iCloud account is still populating with duplicates, but I have deleted all contacts from the account, it's only creating empty Lists. The rest of that account works just fine.

It's all a bodge job, but a workaround. And again, I only have the two accounts because of issues with Apple.

Tx @richard13 . What you describe is actually fine for me. I understand your frustration in the case of saving for a product but as you said, you can always put those cards aside.

Can you track purchase history that the Apple account balance has been used for?

eg. My AppleCare+ subscriptions come out of my Apple account balance each month. Will the history show up in the wallet up?

@Boardiesboi No! The Wallet does not show the history.
You can find the history in different Appstore, iTunes or any other app where you can check the Purchase History.
