Starting today, Walmart is offering $100 off its selection of Apple iPhones, including the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and newly released iPhone SE, making the already affordable device available at an even lower price point.

The discount applies to iPhones purchased through AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint and is available on devices bought using a monthly installment plan. The discounted price will be reflected through each customer's cell phone bill, with the monthly payments lowered by an appropriate amount.

Customers who want to purchase an iPhone eligible for the discount will need to do so in store, as AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint iPhones are not sold online. Walmart plans to offer the $100 off deal through the end of June.

In other deal news, Belkin.com is offering a 25 percent discount on all of its products through the end of the day with the promo code IMNOFOOL, and Best Buy is offering solid discounts on the 12-inch Retina MacBook, MacBook Air, and Retina MacBook Pro dropping prices by up to $300.

For a full list of this week's deals and discounts, make sure to check out our dedicated deals roundup, which is updated on a daily basis with new accessories, significant deals, and app discounts. It also contains a price list for all of Apple's major products and is an excellent resource for finding the best deal on a Mac or iPad.

These days public corps are run by a bunch of bean counters who's job is to make the books look the best they can so they can satisfy what we call the legal gambling casino aka Wall Street stock markets.

It use to be instant discount up front. then we moved to rebates which are mailed in 4 weeks. then 8 weeks. Then 12 weeks. Some are now 12-16 weeks. Now we introduce these discounts which are a smoke screen because you get paid a visa prepaid card which can't be used as pure cash but instead like a debit card. You don't even get these now you get the discount thru carrier billing cycle refunds. Which now can take up to 3 billing cycles.

These are all fake ass rebates and discounts because if it takes a whole 3 months or longer to receive your initial discount you really are paying up front for everything. These carrier's just want their books to look good every quarter as in no loss in paying out to anyone for anything.

this entire world is full of deceit. My motto is if you can pay cash for something like a phone, pay for it in FULL. Do not do any EIP, installment plans, etc. You can't afford the phone to begin with unless you have the cash up front. It's just ridiculous your can't save enough for this device you'd have to do some form of loan payment plan.

American finance education - only for corporate suit and tie business scam-men and Wall Street rapists. People really need to educate themselves on how to not f-themselves over in debt especially over something like a phone.

if I purchase the iPhone 6s Plus and get the $100 off, but then 6 months down the road I decide to pay it off instead of paying it every month. Do you think they would charge me the full price of the phone without the $100 discount?

Hey Walmart, give me a $100 off the Apple Watch ;)

Must have Walmart giftcards because the price has been cut by $100 off and on from Target and Best Buy since Black Friday 2015. I'm waiting for $200/$250 after the Apple price cut.

No.
From what I understand, it can take "up to three billing cycles" for the correct price to reflect on the account.
I (like you), want to pay mine off.
Sounds like we just need to pay the 1st 3 months of payments, then go ahead & "lump sum" the balance.

Yeah that's kind of what I'm looking out for. I live in Canada but I'd take a run across the border for a deal like that. The 42mm sport is $529 after tax here.

Without seeing the terms this is actually really unclear. The statement that it will take 3 billing cycles makes me wonder if this is like the BOGO deal; they don't actually reduce the NEXT price, instead you receive credits for the discount on your monthly NEXT bill.

In that situation, if you cancel service or decide to pay it off early you pay the remaining balance on the original retail price and forfeit any future discount credits.

In other words these deals are designed to lock customers to their service like the old subsidy contracts.

No.

See it's that 3 month statement that concerns me. Exact same wording as the BOGO deal that forces you to pay it off in installments to get the discount.

They'll gove you a discount if you sign up for an overpriced plan from a carrier, big deal.

It didn't say anywhere it the article about choosing a new "overpriced" plan...
I believe that the way it works is: if you set up payments to buy a new phone on ANY of the big three carriers & on ANY previously held plan, that phone will be $100 off.
You are free to keep your previous plan...
be it overpriced, underpriced, or just priced.

Thank you for your insightful post and I agree completely.

I called Sprint today asking if they would give me this $100 since I upgraded recently and still within 14 days return policy; he credited $100 off the next bill for me so at least that's something! Pretty happy plus don't need the hassle of going back in...

Went to two Walmarts and they had no idea what the iPhone SE was. A good deal but Walmart doesn't have it in stock yet.
