My AT&T order shows that it shipped this morning via UPS Next Day Air...

Arcady: Love your sig. Dvorak is quite the village idiot and I'm surprised he's been able to hang around so long with his fumblings/rants...

Lol so that nerd who has been camping out for a week won't even be one of the 1st in America to even get th iPhone. Guy

This is such a true statement.

From the massive leaks of iPhone 4's, then the keynote presention with an over crowded wifi network, then to the problems with preordering the phone. This whole process seems like Apple has been just going through the motions not really paying attention to what they are doing.

I think that if the prototype hadn't gotten into Gizmodo's hands, there wouldnt have been so much hype about it and less people would have pre-ordered on the 15th, meaning no server crashes. It's all Gizmodo's fault. :D

Well my iPhone is sitting at the local hub that is 2.2 miles away from me. It still shows June 24th but like the email says, I'll be checking this time tomorrow and seeing if it's 'out for delivery'. I've got faith that the email is correct and what it says on FedEx is just what the default time was set to...

For what it is worth.

Maybe that's the point. If they are doing this to alieve server traffic, deliver Apple's stock on the 23rd and AT&Ts on the 24th.

I called Fed Ex, frustrated that my tracting number didn't show squat after three days. The customer service rep told me that the last four digits of my tracking number, 7071, were in the system as a "large shipment all being shipped tomorrow.", meaning the 23rd.

That's awesome. I ordered through AT&T Premier, and my tracking says "null", but when I search on the FED-EX site, it says I will receive my package tomorrow. I wonder if I really will, or if it will be the 24?

How did you search on the Fedex site?!

i got the email but fed ex still says: Delivery est: Jun 24, 2010 by 4:30 PM

i trust fed ex on this one

Fedex does what Apple tells them to do. FedEx is making a lot of money off of this shipment. I think if apple says deliver it early, they'll deliver it early. After all, it's less packages sitting in their warehouses on hold.

Anyone who ordered from AT&T, does your FedEx tracking number actually work yet? Mine has been invalid since I got it yesterday morning... I have no idea what this means for delivery dates either. Will I get my phone on 6/24?

Mine says
Anticipated ship date Jun 22, 2010
Estimated delivery Jun 23, 2010 by 3:00 PM:D

Forgot to say, i ordered on ATT PREMIER on 6/15 3AM PST

How did you search on the Fedex site?!

I just copied and pasted the tracking number from AT&T into the tracking search on Fed-Ex's website. Since it said "null" I was not sure what company was shipping the phone, so I just assumed it would be Fed-Ex.

Did you get an E-Mail from apple saying 23rd? The email clearly says that the tracking may show a later date - but it's coming on the 23rd

You're right but logic has no place in my geeky paranoid freakout!

I know I am worrying about nothing, I just can't wait... I can't believe I have to work an entire day tomorrow before I can play with it.

I wanted to change the delivery address to my work but I didn't want to mess with the very fragile pre-order that took me all day to get through.. I didn't want to risk it.

Just called my local Walmart. They said they have them in the store right now, but they aren't allowed to sell them until 9AM on Thursday. For all of those who wanted to know. (Looks like I'm going to go pick up my reserve at the Apple Store.)

Mine has said June 23rd by 10:30 AM since it was shipped, which pretty much had me convinced it was arriving early, and then i got the email, which confirmed it. Can't wait!

Well, take it for what it's worth, but this is my Fedex tracking information, ordered from AT&T, showing a June 23rd delivery...

Hey dude!! Cambridge, MA here too.:)

I also received the Apple E-mail last night. Frankly, I am stunned by Apple's change in policy on this. Don't get me wrong, I support the idea (obviously). But what a public relations nightmare! For every happy person that ordered for home delivery, there will be a pissed off person that chose store pickup or decided to get it from other retailers, all on the 24th only.

Oh well... I get to be one of the "happy" ones. Neener neener neener! :D

Wal-Mart has very small inventory

Just called my local Walmart. They said they have them in the store right now, but they aren't allowed to sell them until 9AM on Thursday. For all of those who wanted to know. (Looks like I'm going to go pick up my reserve at the Apple Store.)

My local Wal-Mart manager told me that are getting only 4 iPhone 4's for launch day.

May be different in other areas, but just FYI. You might want to ask your local Wal-Mart.

Does anyone who ordered a 32GB from AT&T Premier have a tracking number? If so, what time did you place the order?

I have a 32GB that I ordered at 8AM EST that has no tracking number. Still stuck at processing.

I'm pretty frustrated with AT&T, I should have gone the Apple route. I preordered at 9 am on the 15th for pick up at the store (the store is near where I work). My tracking number says that the Fed Ex information cannot be found, however it says that it shipped on the 17th. I really hope if the AT&T store gets it tomorrow, that they will let us pick it up...

It isn't so much that a wifi network was overloaded, but the entire 2.4ghz spectrum was. Take a keynote that tends to be a pretty big press event and people are doing things like wifi tethering to get the story out to their respective blog. You could easily have more than a dozen networks on a band that has fewer than 11 channels to work with. When you start cramming that many networks and devices into the shame channels, you get annoying interference that slows it down for everyone on the channel. If there was also some bad defaults, you could have rendered a channel fairly unusable for the duration of the keynote... And that is something you can't truly predict with any real accuracy.
