I have an AT&T Premier order for a iPhone 4 32GB Black.

It is still at Processing. No Fedex Tracking number and the shipped box isn't checked.

I ordered at about 8AM EST on June 15. Is anyone else still stuck in Processing?

Same here. I ordered my 32gb phone at 7am and it's stuck in processing. However, I ordered my wife a 16gb at 9am EST and her order is shipped! I wonder if there are low inventory for 32gb?

Ya know, I'm not seeing how it's possible for mine to make it here tomorrow for the 23rd. I got the email, but, my status is showing it's sitting in Anchorage. o_O

Anyone else in this boat? Whaddya think?

Mine passed through Alaska as of about 6 PM EST last night (the 21st). I'm in Mass, so I figure it'll be at the main distro. center in Memphis sometime this morning, then up to CT/Mass sometime late tonight, then out for delivery tomorrow morning. I'm actually having it delivered to my work in CT (only get taxed on the subsidized price, compared to the full $700 price in Mass :D), and I'm close to the main FedEx center at the airport so I think it'll make it around lunch time.

I'd imagine that's the schedule everyone else is on too.

I got my e-mail this morning... Says I am getting it the 23rd. FedEx's website still says the 24th but it is in Newark NJ which is overnight delivery via ground shipping to my house.

So at normal pace it will be delivered tomorrow... It sucks that my wife is working tomorrow (she has Thursday off) so I have to pre-sign and have it left at my apartment door all day... Luckily only family lives in the building.

I am so pumped they moved Christmas up a day!!! WOOO!!!

I live in RI and mine went from Alaska right to New Jersey... So if it lands in Jersey today its a 1 day (overnight) turnaround time from there to MA, RI..

I wouldn't worry.

They didn't put their ego aside, they're looking to upstage the Droid X's announcement.

No they're not. People interested in a Droid have zero interest in the restrictive iPhone OS and App store, and they sure as heck aren't interested in AT&T.

Russian President is to thank for that

Rumor has it that tomorrow, June 23, president Medvedev will have a meeting with Mr Jobs, and that he would be getting an iPhone 4 as a gift. That way the official start day would have been moved to - 1 day.

Makes sense. I'm sure it'll get updated sometime this morning showing it passing through Newark. thanks!

In other words you get your self worth from only liking things that aren't the main stream and thus have to bash it.

Give it a rest.

Anything can happen. When I ordered my iMac it said it stayed in Anchorage for over a day, and went to Kentucky, and then back to Anchorage. Doesn't make sense, but it got to my house right when they said it would.

I sort of wish I pre-ordered instead of reserved, although congrats to those of you who pre-ordered and didn't get your order cancelled! I doubt very much the Apple store will let me pick it up tomorrow, unless they want to make their reservation line shorter, then they would let me. Wishful thinking.

Well that changes things...

Doesn't seem as cool anymore to be one of the first to get the phone on Thursday morning. Many people will have already had their phone for a whole day. Maybe I'll have to rethink how I do this now..lame

You'll typically see the fedex location change early afternoon.

My two iPhone (32Gb and 16GB) Fedex tracking also changed from invalid to the same as below.

Nice if it comes tomorrow, but as has been said, tracking for previous devices has also shown the same with Fedex holding until official delivery day - We will see.

Well, take it for what it's worth, but this is my Fedex tracking information, ordered from AT&T, showing a June 23rd delivery...

Actually, since it is international, first it has to go someplace else (I want to say Tennessee) then get processed, then go back out toward your state.

Still in the pessimist category here and betting on Thursday, despite the encouraging note.

No it doesn't. It cleared customs in Alaska. I ordered two phones. one is still in Alaska, but the other went from Alaska straight to Oakland California. From there it will go by truck to Santa Clara California and out on a truck to my house in Campbell CA. No side-trip to Tennessee.

not necessarily. I know a lot of people who have gotten Droids who have expressed interest in the iPhone, but were already heavily invested in Verizon and just wanted something "like" and iPhone. Not all Droid users are the uber nerds who want to root their phone's OS and are worried about App store restrictions. I'd say the majority of Droid users are just like the majority of iPhone users, and they really don't know the difference between the two, only their similarities as smart phones.

For what its worth mine landed in Alaska yesterday evening too...

I work in a business where we send and receive a LOT of UPS/FedEx and as long as a UPS driver gets it in his hand during their business hours it has ALWAYS been a 1 day turnaround from Jersey... Their website lists it as a 1 day too. If it gets TO Jersey today it WILL be in MA tomorrow if it goes by their slowest ground shipping.*

*In my extensive experience dealing with the companies.

I got the June 23 email too! My Apple shipping confirmation email stated delivery by June 24 while my FedEx tracking page always said June 23rd by 10:30am.

My shipment is by International Priority direct distribution which I do think makes a difference. (Others were reporting an International Economy and those appear to be arriving on the 24th by 4:30pm).

Seems Apple shipped a few of us a bit early. I wonder why. I'd speculate it's to cut down on activation drag. They found out having everyone activate their new phone all on one day would be a non-starter and decided to split the shipment. My theory, anyway.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the previous device? I was running an iPhone 2G.

My shipment with FedEx is listed as International Economy, yet I also got the overnight Apple email stating that the phone would arrive on the 23rd. Fedex still says the 24th on their tracking, but the Apple email specifically mentions that might happen. I am replacing a 3GS, so that blows two parts of your theory.

However, I do agree that they may want to spread out the server load. My guess will be they are having all the iPhones they are directly shipping to customers delivered a day early. Then maybe AT&T servers don't crash on Thursday causing long lines for all the in-store activations for the folks who reserved for pickup (especially since many of those people are doing the in-store pickup because of the online ordering problems last week).

The AT&T server problems made Apple look bad last week. The last thing they want is bad press about more problems on the big launch day with all the media coverage that will be present.

Att Order

I have ordered 2 iPhones, one from ATT and one from Apple. The Apple order was cancelled and the ATT order is looking fine. My iPhone is heading to UPS Main Hub in Memphis Tennessee at today 6:02 AM. Hopefully it will ship today overnight and be here tomorrow 23rd !!!!

If you reserved it like I did, then it is still cool to go to the Apple Store and pick one up. Yeah, they get to have fun with it a day earlier, but it'll only be a few hours (literally, if you wake up like I will in the morning) until you get yours too.

Happy for those who get the phone earlier!

I reserved one..but it has still lost some luster for me now...

Exactly. He likes to imagine that all the people who use Android are all tech savvy people who made the choice to go Android because they are power users and anyone who chooses Apple are people who don't know better.

Well my 60 year old parents who can't operate their DVR have Evos... So that doesn't really hold water.

I don't understand why to like one thing means you HAVE to HATE the alternative.

I'm getting an iPhone 4. And isn't what you described what many say of Mac users.

Couldn't say... I am not a Mac user.

I am sure they're nice machines but I don't have the money to get a high end Mac that I would be happy with. So I have a PC and am perfectly happy with it.

Don't count on FedEx

I'll bet Apple is releasing early because AT&T dropped the ball and shipped with delivery on the 23rd. Apple had to do something to keep the minions happy.

However, for those of us with a 24th delivery date, don't get your hopes up too high for early delivery. FedEx has this nasty habit of not delivering early. Whenever a package arrives early at the destination depot, they always hold it and not deliver it until its designated delivery day saying in the tracking, "not due for delivery".

For example, a package was shipped 3 day express and it arrives at the local depot on the 2nd day. Instead of delivering it that day, they hold it until the 3rd day. Same for 2 day delivery if it arrives in one day.

I hate when they do that :(

Yet the people you took the biggest shot at are the ones that post on this forum. Mac users.
