Oh really grandmaster who joined the forums not even 2 weeks ago? Why don't you give them a call and prove you're foolishness in here to everyone? Admit you were wrong and only then will WE let this one slide.

You need to let it go and move on, carrying this burden is not good for your health. Thank you, however for addressing me as grandmaster. I appreciate when my greatness is noticed.

Ah you're a smart guy huh? I can play this game. Its ok to feel defeated on a public forum where no one will every know you're true identity...

I called your best buy and you lied, they said their open box ipads are 560. Curiosity got the best of me. Anyhow, looks like I won (of course). Only think left for you to prove me otherwise is to take a photo of your receipt with said discount. Jump through my hoops to prove yourself not a liar. Jump I say!

Going to bump in support of solidity towards the idea of finding a deal price on new iPP early

Just went to a Best Buy to purchase a Pencil, they had 5 open box returns with one as low as $535 because its box was in shambles. Why they wouldn't sell it in new packaging is beyond me...

Because they simply don't have the means to do so.

Managers can play around with open box pricing in-store at Best Buy, this board member's account of his experience is very accurate :)

Prove it, let's see the receipt...

It also helps the fact that I used to work at best buy back in 2005 and know how the system works. Many vendors like specifically like apple prohibit their returns to be sent back to them for a credit to the store. They must be resold by the store as open items. Samsung, sony, etc allow for best buy to send most returns back to them to receive a credit for the product. Knowing this as an employee at best buy I would constantly tell friends and family when we had open items so they could snag a great deal because I knew managers would discount the products even further because most of them just sit there unsold. At the price you pay for an apple product, most people who come in with the intent to purchase one have the money for a new one and don't want to bother with saving 100$ buying a used one.

Really want to go see if my local Best Buy has any in stock. It's a smaller area, so I doubt they'll have any. I'd love to haggle down the price and get a good deal.

563 for open box near me. 32 wifi. The guy brought it out happily like I was going to be eager to buy it

A whomping 37 dollars off, not that much better than if I used my target care on a new in box one

I went the eBay route. My local Best Buy didn't have any real deals. Got a new sealed 128gb wi-fi only for $700 shipped. Saved me a little bit of cash.
