When I called and talked to them, he said they'd be getting a new shipment of M10's in mid-October...last time I contacted him he responded a few days later apologizing for the delay, saying that he'd been really busy in design and product spec. He'll respond sooner or later, haha. I guess it's a matter of whether or not you want to wait.

The speakers will mainly be used for listening to music, but I suppose there's the potential (if they're good enough) that my girlfriend might want to borrow them for some mixing (film).

How would you rate the AV40s for actual listening with a little film sound mixing/editing? Not as a comparison to any other speaker, but taken on their own.

I got a set of Harmon Kardon SoundSticks II a couple of months ago and I'm very happy with them. They look very nice and sound great too.

Not to hijack this thread, but I'm just curious of thegoldenmackid's review of it...

Chances are they will be better then what you have. They are more accurate then the T40s, but I'd rather have it and just mix via headphones versus the other options. I'd try to find an Apple Store and check it out or another music store.

The first pair of speakers I owned. Definitely one of the coolest speakers in terms of design and not bad in sound. Definitely not the worst of computer speakers, but overpriced. The bass is where I like it, but only when close to the maximum levels. Highs and mids are good for computer speakers, but compared to Klipsch's ProMedia 2.1's or the Swans - it's not fair.

To the OP - if the U.K. Apple Stores are anything like the U.S., they should have T40s and the M-Audio.

I don't think I've ever seen them in the Regent St Apple Store.

However, it's a moot point now. I found a set of decently priced T40s on eBay. If I don't get on with them I'll put them back up and go for some AV40s.

Just got this back from the Audio Insider, it's too late to make a difference for me, but it will be useful for others to know.

The Audio Insider said:
I'm sorry but our policy must be that our 110v-only powered speakers only ship into the US. Our agreement with Swan prohibits shipping out of the country.
