The wheels on these do look lovely, a very high quality finish. I think the price is actually reasonable and acceptable for prosumers who want ultimate Mac Pro portability.
I agree. If I needed the machine to roll, I wouldn’t trust anything else — $100 per wheel is inexpensive insurance. Clearly, a lot of thought and engineering went into these, and the price should reflect that.

Because the metal stand for $999 and a set of 4 tiny wheels for $399 are frankly a cash grab and people should rightly call that behaviour out before it spreads to other areas of the product line.
You're already thirty years too late.

I hope these are all-season wheels. Because all-season tires cost less 😂

I just found a set of castors for $21.98 at Home Depo. That will save me
$378.02, bringing the overall cost of my setup down to $51,621.98. Much better deal, as $52K is just too dam high.
Those castors ain't gonna fit. Apple made sure😂

The rest of the pricing for the Mac Pro and the Display can be justified for professionals.

Apple is a fantastically successful company that will continue to make boat loads of cash. It doesn’t need your help defending the comedic pricing on the stand and wheels
So niche, it’s not a cash grab. These won’t even move the needle for Apple. Go look at some high end accessories for high end equipment.

I don’t know why it’s expensive, but it is. Apple assuredly did their research on price point for professionals.

Here are two handles from RED approaching $1,000...for a handle/mount.

The Honda Dealer wants $333.00 for each headlamp for my CR-V. And it's just the plastic enclosure; and it eventually will turn yellow and become trash.

What I'm trying to say is that if these wheels have a superior design and materials than the usual plastic casters, then it may be worth the price.

There's a chance that this is a case with the casters built-in, not just adding casters to an existing case.
Yes, the frame has the wheels built in, so you can’t add apple’s wheels post-purchase.

y, lets buy a 50k workstation and then put on some 20-buck wheels from homedepot....
Don't worry, it will slide perfectly beneath the $20 desk I bought from Wal-Mart.

People who are never going to buy something, complaining about prices they can't afford. That's internet for you ;)

And no, I can't afford this either. But I'm not going to complain about it.
So, 'tis better to complain about people complaining about something, rather than complain about that something of which people are complaining, no?

Has anybody noticed that by adding wheels to your Mac Pro order it moves the ship date back by about 4 weeks?

I ordered an hour after the Mac Pro went on sale and got the $400 wheels but the ship date is not until January 28? 😲
