Try doing that with TouchID. Remember, "no TouchID, no sale? 
This is only the beginning of what the future holds for FaceID. Yes, there are pros and cons, but can you really say anything bad about a company taking big risks and hoping people will accept it? This is a perfect example of the potential this feature have that will have devs just coming up with infinite uses for FaceID, some are useful and some are not.
To me this is useful if you wanna preview a pair of glasses before you go to your local optometrist. It's a win for everyone involved, imho.
