Sounds like cord cutting isn't worth it after all. Glad I have my direct TV.....Greedy companies, I hope someday tictok takes away all their customers, its free and often more entertaining anyways.

Here I thought Cinemax was owned by the Showtime people. I used to call it Skinemax back then.

Good times.... good times....

The $20 plan is less than what my girlfriend and I pay for the two individual services, so even though I think making 4K an upsell in 2023 is bogus, at least I won't be paying more than I am now for the pleasure.

Really, though, I hope they're over the cancelations and deletions that characterised the early days of the takeover. You can't boast about your huge library if you're constantly culling.

I'm currently paying $15.99 for HBO Max & $6.99 for Discovery+, so it looks like a win for me as I'll save a few bucks...

Cutting the cord makes perfect sense if you are not lazy, it is very simple:

10 Find streaming service with content you like
20 Subscribe until content has been consumed
30 Cancel subscription
40 Goto 10

My cable bill went from over $200/mo to $40 for internet only + one or two services at once.

I’ve tried it out for 8 months and planned to cancel it seeing as much of WB new content are serials and movies through their studios on other platforms making the idea of reruns unappealing.

That’ll leave me with prime and AppleTV+ both packaged with other services making them value wins.

At the rate of new quality content is waning on Netflix is increasing it’ll be my third service to cut with Disney+ the first.

One can only take so much Marvel and Star Wars content in a life before becoming numb to it.

A streaming company making questionable decisions? Who would have guessed? 🤭

Netflix keeps raising prices (in this economy!), HBO Max is rebranding to something more terrible, and goodness only knows what other brilliant decisions their competitors have planned. The only winners will be the people getting pushed to live a life on the high seas. ⛵☠

What service are Alfred Hitchcock’s movies on again? Because charging extra for 4K in 2023 is for The Birds.

Regardless, now you can presumably watch Mad Max on Max on your M1 Max Macs and iPhone Max wearing Nike Air Max eating Big Macs. Unless you are busy running ‘Max’s Max Macs: seller of quality premium raincoats…’.

Maximum Max, to the Max!*

*Some Max features may not be maximised without maximum payments.

Yep, this will bring my yearly total to about $25. One month of Max, binge watch the 3 or 4 shows I like, cancel. Repeat another month with Netflix. Now we will be talking not only about cutting the cord, but ALSO cutting the internet cord, something that has freed up my free time massively versus watching content I rarely liked just for the sake of justifying the monthly premium. I'm honestly even thinking about dropping Amazon Prime, they have sunk to new lows and now most of the "included" movies are that Freevee crap with commercials.

Kids wanted to watch a movie last night, instead of endlessly scrolling through movies and movies we opted to play a few games of Chess and Checkers! Yeah a bit antiquated, but still fun.

Clueless branding move. Cancel all the films and TV you want, it's your business. But this is just a MESS – changing the entire brand every few months. And now? A generic brand.
I wonder if after a year or so they'll realize their screw up and bring back the HBO name.

Remember this?

New Coke --> Coca-Cola Classic --> Coca-Cola

The story of New Coke remains influential as a cautionary tale against tampering with an established successful brand.

HBO Max --> Max --> HBO Classic --> HBO 🤣
