I know. You got it just so you'd have buggy beta software before everyone else got the final release. Good for you. (Of course this was after you started a thread on why you were sticking with 2.2.1, go figure )

EDIT: you're also not a developer, so don't try and pass yourself off as one.

The deal is... I wanted to help Apple test the beta okay? I wanted to be able to submit bug reports and help make it better. I wanted to contribute. Is that so wrong. Also, I did not lie... I do want to learn how to develop apps but it's a lot harder than I initially imagined. I'm sorry I'm not perfect enough for you. Yes, I change my mind a lot... it's just how I am. Also, I AM using 2.2.1 right now on my MAIN iPhone. I have 2 iPhones and an iPod touch to use, so I can do whatever the heck I want. I paid for the developer access, so therefore, I am a developer.

When I turned 18 I went online and became a minister. That does not really make me one. Until you develop an app you're just a guy with a developer account, not a developer. In fact, I've got a developer account. Sure I didn't pay the $99 to get an app in the App Store (or the rest of the perks) but I've still got the account, I sure as hell wouldn't call myself a developer though.

back on topic.

Eventhough I most likely wouldn't have done this simply because I'm an iPhone naturalist, I do appreciate the warning. Why do you feel in necessary to explain yourself to people?

uh oh... is an iPhone naturalist something like a naturist??

I'm not sure what you mean, but my system was unusable. A quick visit in time machine fixed everything for me.

You are the one who is always whining about how jailbreaking introduces lag and you know this by the tests you've run. Deleting all these files introduced a lot of lag if it was unusable.

Okay, so I heard that iTunes 8.2 disables jailbreaking

:eek::eek::eek:
I have updated my iTunes before reading this!

I hope this is not the case as my contract with O2 ends next month and I was looking a moving my 2.5G iPhone to Orange.

O2 still does not have any edge/3G network where I live!

Edit:
8.2 stops you jailbreaking your iPhone but can you still sync your jailbroken iPhone to 8.2 or is that broken as well?

My Mac Pro doesn't know what lag is. The difference is, I have 5GB of RAM in my Mac Pro.

I'm going to upgrade to 8.2 ONLY to help a friend with his 3G 3.0 and then I wanted to downgrade because I have a friend I will see next week with a 2G who wants to install 2.2.1 and not 3.0.

I know alot of people acted like this thread was no help but alot of sites (actually ALL the sites I checked) gave terminal directions (or lack of) that most ppl like myself who rarely ever use terminal understand as enter. So I would have done the EXACT same as you and I do not have Time Machine so THANK YOU!

Is this the correct command ?

sudo rm -rf /Applications/iTunes.app \
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DeviceLink.framework \
/System/Library/Extensions/AppleMobileDevice.kext \
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/iTunesAccess.framework \
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreFP.framework \
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework

I copy and paste the above and then hit enter? then my password, etc.

Now I'm scared to try.

It's funny because 8.2 doesn't disable jailbreak. I jailbreaked yesterday using 8.2.

the spaz started a thread to complain about apple upgrading something?
but usually he just complains about how they dont upgrade things

seriously spaz
you do some good things on this forum, you really do. youve helped people before
but you always have a new thread and they usually are just complaining or attempted assertion of nonexistent power (Apple has to do this or else)
no one would have used that method, or even found it, if you hadnt introduced it.

the other users of this forum are gonna get more and more fed up with it, and you'll lose credibility
id hate to see someone whos so active and helpful become the boy who cried wolf around here

I thought I'd save people from making the mistake I made. My apologies for trying to help. Anyways... downgrading iTunes is no longer needed for the latest 3.0 jailbreak.

wth!? Am I speaking another language in this thread? iTunes 8.2 WAS always needed to jailbreak 3.0 so are you saying UPGRADING is no longer needed?

Only reason to downgrade is to run OLDER versions of Pwnage to install 2.2.1 not everyone wants to rush to 3.0.

So again my question is what do I type in EXACTLY in terminal so I can DELETE iTunes 8.2 so I can downgrade which to my knowledge is 100% necessary in order to install Pwnage 2.2.1!!!!!

Am I wrong and misreading all the info or no??????

To downgrade iTunes:

Drag iTunes.app to the trash
Restart
Install iTunes 8.1
