Surely a calculator for the iPad is a higher priority?
After 10 years, what exactly leads you to believe Apple is going to make a calculator app for iPad lol

I played one round. The best part was when I got points for hitting the birds that were flying by.

Or, kiss huge investor's butts. Apple did this as a thank you for Buffet not dropping their stock during the sales downturn. And, I agree, it is embarrassing.

Exactly.... and the saddest part, IMO, is Cook being happy about/proud of the fact Buffet "doesn't invest in tech companies". Yes, the fact he keeps Apple means he views them as just another consumer goods company. How FAR that is from Job's original vision for Apple!

As a tech guy myself, this "insight" is something that's pretty jarring to me. It makes me double-down on my efforts to move back out of the Apple ecosystem as I make future home computer/tech purchases. Because frankly, if a company isn't even focused on the tech it makes enough to be considered a "tech business" anymore? That means as a power user of tech, I'm better served by the ones who do.

I bet some intern made this at Apple in their free time and signed off on it to add a harmless game to the App Store

So nothing?

Always funny to see someone trash Apple and then have no explanation why

Clearing leveraging all the power of the iPhone X ... or the iPad pro ... or the new ipad mini ... or any other current ios device that's way overpowered for anything 99.9% of the population does on it.

That’s a new one. Trashing Apple for manufacturing hardware that’s overpowered.

I felt the need to come back in here and comment a second time.

If there is an end for Apple—and all things do eventually come to an end—this is likely the beginning of that.

It will probably be a slow burn, and there is certainly time to correct, but this is one of those things that we see a decade down the road and are like "Why weren't the warning signs more obvious to us?"

No, trashing Apple because if theyre going to release exactly 1 app every decade, at least make something that truly leverages some of that power, not just some dinky dumb game that plays just fine on an ipad mini 2

Tim Cook is just a CEO, not an inventor. He is the next Gil Amelio. He is just lucky that Apple has a bigger market share now and is almost too big to fail compared to when Gil was in charge. And that Apple is focused on phones and not computers anymore.
Well.... everybody knows that, even Jobs, which is why he had many executives like Schiller, Ive, Federighi, etc. A CEO’s skill is in delegating the right people for the right jobs. I mean if you think Cook is incapable, then that’s Jobs fault as well for picking Cook.

Well, I take that back since Jobs did invite Sculley in personally. So I guess you never know how the future holds.... :D

So Tim does a vanity app. It's completely harmless, in my view.
Yeah, I’m sure this is just an inside fun. But in the age of tech bloggers and Internet forums, everything will and must be seen as a negative.

Does it allow you to buy out your employee owned hometown paper for pennies on the dollar, then bring in a management company to completely gut and dismantle it? Idk, say, The Omaha World Herald, for example?

Sure. Click bait. But that attitude seems to be taking hold on just about every subject, to our detriment.

I am confused. Arent there plenty of calculator apps available?

Its fun why the hate

Because it's shameless investor courting.

Because these forums are just full of negative nancies nowadays... No matter what Apple does it's wrong or bad etc.
Online people are more inclined to go out of their way to write negative statements than positive.

I would have been totally ecstatic if Apple did something like bring back the awesome Texas Hold'em app they did for the iPhone. That would be great!

But, because I called the "investor ass kissing app" what it is, that makes me always negative. SMH.

What’s embarrassing is how many people think Paperboy started as an NES title...

Amen! I guess they never played that great arcade game with the bike handle bars! Pity.
