Here is my quandary.

I have a SBSS S3 after upgrading from a SS S2. I gave my SS S2 to my dad and really miss the finish. I do love the SB, but just feel the SS is more 'me'. I have noticed that I have upgraded every year, so now I am beginning to think an aluminium may be the way to go - I have my eye on a Nike SG 44mm LTE (I use cellular all the time). My thinking is that after the shininess of the stainless steel I went to a shiny but black stainless, will I be disappointed by saving over £200 to go to a matt finish space grey for something I know I am going to keep only a year at most?

My original S0 AW replaced a Rolex that I still wear on formal occasions anyway, so do I really need a premium stainless version?

So is the S4 aluminium an upgrade over a stainless S3?

Oh 1st world problems :)

I'm sorry, but if you think the watch will look even remotely as nice as a Stainless then you're gravely mistaken. :-(

I've had AL-watches and now just got the SBSS 44mm and I will never again purchase an AL-watch. They're plain ugly if you compare the two. It all comes down to cost tho, ofcourse.

Yep, I need to work out if an extra £230 is worth it. I suppose it is something i will look at every day, so that is £0.63 a day extra if I upgrade every year :)

I prefer the look at the space grey/black aluminum. It's lighter, and I'm throwing it in a supcase this time around for protection. I got my S4 yesterday and whatever material you choose, it's worth the upgrade. Screen is bigger, icons are larger, and for my eyes, much easier to use. The aluminum has better resale or value retention. The SS's aren't worth much more than aluminum when you are ready to upgrade and trade your old one in or sell it. Value retention to me = aluminum every time.

And I wouldn't buy any of Apple's expensive watch bands. I went through a BB yesterday and all the aftermarket bands, they weren't any different than what Apple offers and they are a fraction of the price.

I upgraded to the Series 4 from my Series 3 and consider it the smallest upgrade ever. The Series 2 was a huge jump up from the Series 0 in screen brightness and performance. The cellular on Series 3 was also big. Plus the speed increase going from the Series 2 to the Series 3 was probably the single biggest jump in performance.

But the Series 4 is the best looking so I guess there’s that.

Same here. I’m NEVER buying another aluminum watch. I’ve always owned SS but I couldn’t wait this time. Big mistake.
