I think i'd rather buy "cheaper" $50 jeans (which still isn't all that cheap) and wash them regularly than buying $300 jeans that I only clean twice a year.

I'd like to think my levi's are good quality jeans (they were kind of expensive around 50-60 bucks :p) but I wash them every week. and I only wear them once, maybe twice max a week.

I have a couple pairs of raw denim that cost 150 a piece. Never washed them so the dye fades slowly in areas of wear and jeans form to my body. The older of the two is probably 2 years old now. They never smell. Washing them too often would fade the dye too quickly. I also have some Levi's that I wash once a week.

Heck, I buy old navy jeans at 20 bucks and have no complaints

I wash them once every week about. No holes or nuttin

If they wear out, ill get another pair. Alot of pairs to equal 300 bucks worth. Holy cow. That's like a trip to vegas for me

I have a nice pair of Carhartt jeans ($50), yes Carhartt makes more than work wear, and they get treated the same as all my other clothes. Machine wash, line dry, tumble dry on air for 15 minutes. Over two years and they've hardly faded. I'd say I wash them after 2 to 3 wears or when obviously dirty. It's the dryers heat that really takes the longevity out of clothing. All that stuff in the lint trap? That used to be part of your clothes.

What can you do in Vegas for 300 bucks?

OP,

I mentioned Raleigh Denim jeans in another thread and talked about how there's no need to wash them. Your jeans are not like $30 jeans. If its not recommended to wash them, don't. They're made differently and wear differently than less expensive jeans. Do some research. It's pretty interesting stuff.

While I haven't yet bought an expensive pair, I'm really wanting to soon. They'll last for years and are supposed to be ultra comfortable!!!

I think Hans Christian Andersen wrote about an Emperor who had a pair ......

There was a thread once about Nudie Jeans, a high end blue jeans company who recommended once every six months or so. It caused an uproar here but it all depends on how many times you wear it in six months, if you wear underwear, if you sweat a lot or not, etc.

Everybody is different and I prefer washing them more but not as much as I would a similar pair of light tan khakis.

and you sometimes put them in the freezer to kill any bacteria

Freezing your jeans doesn't kill any bacteria, it merely slows their growth as freezing is not bactericidal, it's bacteriostatic. If you wanna kill the bacteria, better off putting your jeans in a pressure cooker or oven :p

Do you guys' jeans not "stretch" out? And what about wrinkles? I buy AE jeans as well as Ralph Lauren and they both most definitely do so...

It ain't rocket science.....

• Close the zipper
• Close the button
• Turn jeans inside out
• Use only cold wash

How often is up to you, but freshly washed jeans to look 'sharp' due the white in the fabric being white.
