There are other discussions stating that the drain might be due to live activities. I turned that off and my battery is much better than it was with it on
Yes same here. However if you turn off live activities on the watch you get no live activities notifications. For example before os11 you would get a notifications if a score changed. Now the watch controls notifications. Hope they change that.

Edit: you get live activity notifications on the iPhone if the iPhone is unlocked

I had a problem with all Watch 11 betas as my watch barely lasted 24 hours. On Watch OS 10, it would last about 2 days.

One of the programs, Pedometer++, was acting weird. So I deleted and reinstalled it. Ever since, my AW8's battery has been pre Watch OS 11. Now it lasts almost 2 days even with workout enabled for an hour.

Just bought a 40mm SE2 solely for sleep tracking. When to bed at 100% and woke up on power reserve. Watch arrived with 11.0. Will install 11.0.1 now (and turn off live activities)

Even with the reboot, unpairing, and repairing back to my iPhone, I am still experiencing battery drain. I updated to 11.0.1, just charged my battery to 100%, and will be monitoring battery through today. I’m off work today so I can pay more attention to the battery.

I upgraded my S6 watch to the latest OS and even after allowing some days for it to settle in it took a serious hit in battery life. Before this updated it'd usually go about 15 hours between when I'd put on the watch and when I'd take it off before bed - no major tasks, just step tracking and weather widgets on the home screen - and it'd be in the red zone for battery life. After the update I was barely making it 12 hours before I'd get the low battery alert.

Anyway, gave it a chance until I saw a nice deal on an Open Box Excellent S9 from Best Buy that would cost me a little over a hundred bucks after trade-in, and the S9 battery life is such an improvement over my four-year old S6.

Thankfully, I am not having battery issues with my S10 on watchOS 11 but in the past whenever I did, a reset and restore from backup seemed to help a lot. It's a pain but most of the time it helped.

same here, no issues with watchOS 11. in the past, when an update caused drain issues, a simple reboot fixed it for me. Never had to go through un-pair/re-pair for any of my S0/3/4/7/U/U2 to fix issues

Everything was fine after update to watchOS 11 but yesterday I've lost 80% during my 30 minutes workout. Crazy. Apple Watch started to have some battery % drops like my iPhone 15 pro. I think this is all Apple's fault that they don't care about software like they did in the past. I have a hope that 11.0.1 will help. I've just installed it few minutes ago. We will see

I updated to 11.0.1 last night, and rebooted the watch after the update was complete. Charged to 100% and went to bed last night wearing my fully charged AWU2 for sleep tracking. When I woke up this morning it was at 98%. I played golf for 4 hours, using an app which keeps the GPS active the entire time, tracks my activity as a workout, and allows me to enter scores and stats throughout the round, and came home with 69% battery afterward. 4 hours later I'm sitting here with it at 65%. Battery life seems fine to me.

I’m just going to assume that since my launch day Ultra 1 has a battery capacity of 87%, that my battery is going to degrade quicker than someone that has a battery capacity in the 90’s. I’ve accepted that I will be getting a battery replacement before my 4 year upgrade cycle arrives and will probably lose the Sp02 sensor unless Apple works something out before 2028, so I’ll just have to carry around my Apple Watch fast charger in my portable charger bag to always have on hand.

My new Ultra 2 Black is bad in terms of battery performance. I ride a mountain bike through the forest for 1-2 hours a day and start with 100%.. in the evening it is only about 70%.. I leave the watch overnight, it is only 40% in the morning.. how is that supposed to be an outdoor watch. You don't even dare to take them with you on any tour.

20 hours later...wore my watch all night for sleep tracking and all day today so far, battery % dropped from 65% at 3pm yesterday to 39% at almost 11:00am today - an average of <2% per hour. AWU2, iOS 18.0.1.

U1 updated/rebooted, 83% before w/ always on display during a 27 mile bike ride & 65% after so calling it good.

Battery life is definitely worse and my battery health has dropped a few percent since upgrading. Had battery drain with WatchOS10 as well will just sorted itself out so hoping this time is does well. Definitely not pleased with the battery health dropping so quick though

It does seem to be a recurring theme with WatchOS updates. First few iterations there always seem to be lots of complaints about battery consumption.

I have an Ultra 1 purchased at launch as well. I’ve never had a reason to even look at the Battery setting before, but I do have a battery complication on my watch face. However, I didn’t pay a lot of attention to it. Now, with these threads and complaints popping up, I started paying attention the last week or so and realized that, although still more than adequate, it has been draining more than I’m used to since watchOS 11. I’ve never run a beta on my watches as I’ve never seen one that wasn’t reported to hammer the watch battery in early and fairly late beta releases. I have now upgraded to 11.0.1, and my battery health is 99%, but I’m still noticing greater battery charge declines than prior to 11. With an Ultra, that’s not a big deal since it has a bigger battery to begin with, but it leads me to be concerned that this decline is only going to worsen with any upcoming releases.

Updated to the .1 release yesterday and although I’ve only had to charge once my S8 does ‘seem’ to have a bit better battery life.

My Ultra 1 seems to be doing pretty good today. I don’t exercise or work today. I just went about my day as normal. I took my watch off the charger at 11:20am at 100%, and I’m currently sitting at 79%. I will not have to charge again until sometime tomorrow.
