Experiencing notable battery drain on AWS5 after upgrading to watchOS 8. Same settings, same habits, never had issue before - used to easily go through a full day on a single charge, now I must recharge by early evening. I'll try rebooting the Watch, seems to have worked for some.

I am also seeing this. However I think it might have something to do with iOS 15.
I was on the beta for both and then removed the profiles. Updated to iOS 15 on the phone and then still am running the beta on the watch (as it wouldn't update). Since then the battery has been draining on the S5 watch a lot more.

My series 6 was atrocious right after the update to OS 8. After a reboot it got better but battery life is still draining much faster. Pretty disappointed as it makes the battery life on my series 6 from “finally good enough” to ”something I’ve got to worry about“ again. It is like I’m back to a series 3!

Put me on the list of AW6 draining battery list. I used to have after 16h of use 30% left. Now 10% after 11h.
I noticed it right before upgrading to OS8. Can't figure out a fix.

I have a AW5 as well and my battery was awful when I first upgraded. I rebooted and it improved a bit but I’m still losing around 12% an hour.

It's very noticeable when using it for sleep tracking.
Prior to the update it would be fully charged before bed and when I wake up it's around 90%-85%. Now it's always around 60%.

My watch battery was good last all day, one charge per night. Now with WatchOS 8 it's not even getting to late afternoon!

I’m still on 7.3 because so many people were having issues with the later releases. I was finally going to update to 8, but I think I will hold off until Apple releases a fix.

Series 4 here. Since upgrading to Watch OS 8 last week, I no longer get a full day out of the watch. It's draining so much quicker than OS7

AW6 , battery drained drastically after updating to watch os 8.0
Yep. Also my activity tracker is pretty much dead. The rings do not record anything. I just went swimming and the only thing recorded was the time duration. Sucks.

So after the release of Meditation and Pilates the watch seems now to be holding battery much better. Something is very funny with this update. I am wondering if the battery drain had something to do with the Mindfulness app?

I also have rapid battery charge loss with 8.1 beta. Previously had 12 hours of use. Now have less than 3 hours. Reinstalling watch os did not help.

Same issue here. Have tried everything up to and including a full reset and setup as new with the watch. Today I even did a reset on my 13 Pro then setup watch as new again and still draining obscenely fast.

New Apple product comes out, old Apple product breaks.

I’m sure its just a coincidence(?) but my SE has been awesome every day until WatchOS8. Now, after multiple pairing and Full reset, this watch feels broken. I’m sure there will be a fix but so far Beta1 reports that nothing is fixed so it’s multiple charging a day until then.

Yep, I am so mad about it. My Apple is pretty much bricked. I can only use it for time. None of the apps are working and the touch displays is acting all weird. I'm hopeful the next update will fix these issues. It seems lots of people are having this problem.
