I've been stuck at about 30% download '21 minutes remaining' for about three hours now... Did that happen to any of you? The watch is charging and is connected to the phone like it should.

Check this out, Matching iOS gadgets!

Apple Watch doesn't run iOS. It runs Watch OS.

After the download it has to load the os and then reboots 2 times i think, and then loads apps. All in all it will take an hour or more depending on your internet speed and number of apps.

Im sure its slow due to their overloaded servers. Mine's been downloading for an hour and still has 14 min left.
If its not moving at all try re-booting phone and start over. Sometimes it downloads faster after you reconnect maybe to a different server thats not so overloaded.

Slowest OS update I've ever experienced! About an hour to download (slow servers) and then it would not install until "watch" in charger and over 50% charged (I was at 46%). Then it started installing and 35 minutes later it still had 10% left on the install circle on the watch face which shows the install progress!

Ya, it just re-booted and now its going through a second progress circle, but this one moved right along and its rebooting again.

Done . . Pheew! About 1.5 hours from start to finish.

I am not feeling the benefit of a single feature of OS2 yet. The most useful things about the watch remain unchanged from 1.0 for me.

Time travel was interesting for about 10 min. No use for nightstand mode. 3rd party apps and complications are few and far between, and basically redundant. And the sluggish loading times of basic stuff hasn't changed appreciably.

I'm not convinced 2.0 even warranted a full version up. It really feels like 1.5 at best.

Until we have more apps - which I'm wondering at this point why so many developers are dragging their feet - it's going to feel like a minor update.

Apparently it s a rewrite so takes time but some are quicker than others.
Was disappointed to see waterlogged won't be until at least into next year, yet Drafts and Omnifocus were out of the gate from the start...

A re-write is the excuse a developer gives when they see users switching because they're dragging their feet.

Hello,
I am the only one that finds OS 2 clearly slower than OS 1 ?
Even apple apps are slower, like activity app, or workout app.

Not all of the apps have been updated to be native yet. That's going to take time and that's up to the people who wrote the apps. Overall it seems faster to me, especially if you're using the stock apps which are native. But it's not anything that's overly significant no.

Faster - yes, noticeably so for native Apple apps, but not exactly blazing fast. Maybe we'll need to get to Generation 2 Watch and OS3 before we get there.

I have not Watch, but I plan to buy one (tomorrow). Is this true, that Watch has not every-hour-chime (sound) option?! It is really useful and important option for a watch.

Why do you think they are dragging their feet. Is it a lack of return, or not enough money? I would have thought we would have had way more apps for the watch by now.

I'm finding this with the workout app, at least when I want to start a workout, everything else seems faster..

I guess you are right. Many do not want to pay too much on a good phone app. I guess the watch will always lack the number and quality we would like to see.

Maybe Apple could offer some kind of incentive as the lack of apps for the watch will not help watch sales.

It is? One guy at work has a Casio that beeps on the hour, and all it achieves is drawing attention from the rest of us.
