Watch OS7 - workouts no longer tracking

Hasn't fixed the problem for my wife's watch series 6. Re-paired it, but no luck. There is a broken connection between Steps App and Activities so it doesn't display GPS data, only steps. No map. If she uses the native Workout app, then it transfers GPS data as expected. Perhaps Steps App needs to update their app?

I have the very same issue on watch OS7 with apple water 5 & IOS 14 on an iPhone 12. Hopefully they fix it soon. Very annoying.

Funny thing is, my watch 5 with iPhone 11 pro max and latest OS on each is working fine. We've gone thru all settings and permissions and can't find the culprit. She has iPhone Xr.

Yesterday blood oxygen was not working, the watch screen completely blacked out. I restarted the watch, and everything is working fine now.
