I have tattoos down my arms and have had issues with the original aw. Occasionally through a day the watch will drop down my arm slightly causing the sensor to hit my tattoo. This locks the watch. Obviously it isn't just me with this issue.

Basically I'm wondering if anyone knows if this issue has been solved with the new watch. Understand I may be too early on this but nevertheless....

Most people seemed to think the sensors on the back and their operation is the same as the original watch nothing has changed so you might be out of luck sorry.

Probably not something that can 'solved' by conventional optical sensors since dyes absorb and reflect certain light waves and will always interfere with a light measuring device.

I guess this can be a problem for people with very hairy arms ... unless you shave them !

Have you noticed an improvement with wOS3? A huge element of an optical sensor's performance is driven by the firmware and not necessarily the hardware.

Possibly marginally better but in general it feels the same.
