When Apple ships products for launch from China, are they first shipped through Anchorage before they come into the lower 48?

If so, there have been a number of FedEx flights from Anchorage to Memphis (FedEx HQ). Could this be the first wave of shipments coming into the US?

Maybe yes, maybe no. Anything is possible or impossible.
 
Maybe it's the watches, or maybe the new MacBooks that launched on Friday, and are being delivered this week.

Either way we are not getting our watches until 4/24 or later...even if they are already here in the US, Apple will hold them until the :apple:Watch launch date.

When I've ordered other Apple products in the past that China, they do usually pass through Anchorage. Although if our watches were in a shipment, we'd have tracking information--even if it were part of a pallet of watches. Unless they are staging watches in the US and then shipping them from here as a point of origin.
 
Every time I have ordered anything from Apple, and gotten a tracking number you can track its entire journey. So wait until you get your tracking number. I'm still waiting on a TV that has been on back order for several weeks now. I am not wasting time trying to figure out where it is right now, I'm waiting for a tracking number.

Memphis is their main sorting hub.

But you have to remember, FedEx ships something like 16 million packages a DAY. They move packages from China all the time.
 
Not all flights go Anchorage and then Memphis. Often times, for the West Coast, FedEx flies straight from China to Oakland.

ANC is often used as a tech stop for cargo flights from Asia to the U.S. Fedex though with the 777F can now easily bypass ANC direct to MEM or IND but generally that is for higher priority cargo. When the 777F came online they were able to push back cutoff for overnight Asia-US. So depending on demand they might dedicate a single 777 to the transport, they may use a single MD-11 with a tech stop in ANC to MEM they could use multiple dedicate of either type or they may just put them in where the space is available.
 
Dont they arrive at a hq hub somewhere in Kentucky from anchorage?

Depends if it is FedEx or UPS.

UPS is Louisville
