Im sure a multi billion pound company knows what its doing far better then anyone here on the forum. ;)

800k ? Geez that seems a lot lower than I had originally thought. You must be delusional if you think that amount is a success. So what they're making another one it doesn't mean it's successful. Ask around. Original Xbox wasn't successful. Samsung has a lot of money to burn just to make a crappy device. Please come up with better excuse next time.

That was 800,000 in its first two months of being on sale. No body apart from Samsung know the current up to date sales figures.

Also, from reading recent reviews, people seem pretty impressed with the Galaxy Gear since its been updated.

That ad is lame but effective. Makes the iPhone look pathetic, IMO. Apple really hasn't been advertising the 5s as much as I thought they would.

Wow Apple must be struggling now. What to do with millions of iphone sold since 2009. You're making no sense.

How do iPhones device sales compare to Android based device sales?

All they have to do is re-run old advertisements. There are only a handful of really meaningful changes.

Does the number of devices even matter? Apple still takes over 50% of the profit from the smartphone industry, while selling far fewer phones. So really, wtf does marketshare matter with this type of model?

that would only matter if the market was profit only drive from the device. However, considering apps and everything else like accessories are a HUGE part of the market driving the Smart Phone industry, I'd say those with more devices out there will by far end with greater success in the end. You bet Apple would love to seed more units and have them connected to the iTunes store. Why do you think there's so much hype about them moving into China. Volume. Google wants market share too....why? Advertising dollars.

Market share is only driven by smart phones either. Again, Sammy doesn't necessary need to lead the way in profitability in this segment to be a giant in terms of profit overall.

Good for apple for being profitable. So are many luxury automotive brands. However the real success lies in market penetration. Just ask GM, Ford and Toyota who continually fight for market share.

Still doubt that train of thought, then just ask BlackBerry how they feel about market share reports lately....or ask Microsoft and their developers how their app store is doing and why it sucks so badly.

The ad was lame, but the gear is reallllllllly attractive and seems useful. They need to drop the price.

Anyone noticed you can't thumbs up/down the video? :D

It matters to investors, who worry that if subsidies disappear, then so does Apple's dependence on an overly large profit model to make up for far lower market share.

Of course, high prices don't do customers any favors, either.

As much as this ad is so poorly done it does just about make you sick, the Apple ads are no better. At least with this ad, I have some idea of the things the device is capable of.

Compare that with the "Hello" ads for the 5C for example, which just show a bunch of people using phones. They could be any phones, not even smartphones in most cases. They just want you to feel warm and fuzzy about Apple. To be fair, they really didn't have much else to say, I suppose.

I assume the next video in the series is where we will find out stalker guy has drugged her wine and flown her to some unnamed location after taking a disturbing 64 pictures and Liam Neeson will be coming to rescue her or something with the aid of his smart watch.
