Watched thread nofitication

For whatever reason, over the past week or so, I cannot seem to make the 'Watched threads' notification to go away.
Any ideas?

It could be an old thread you watch in a forum you now ignore, so it does not show in watched threads. Scroll to the bottom of the forum page and click show ignored content and see if that makes the watched thread visible.
