Which was the very reason Apple changed it. Same goes for Control Center.I prefer to keep this disabled as I used to accidentally switch faces more often than intentionally. But I'm happy for y'all that missed the old behavior.
Tap the watch face once and then use the Digital Crown, I found this solution earlier in MacRumors for all watch faces with Digital Crown interaction, that seemed to stop working with watchOS 10.Nice! But when you have selected the watch face “Solar graph”, you still can’t use Digital Crown to scroll in time, it just brings up the silly widget menu. Is there a fix for that?
I don't know about that...it was about consistency in gestures across touchscreen devices for me. I swipe for Control Center in my iPad & iPhone - it was nice to do the same in watchOS.Certain personality types simply can’t deal with change and are incapable of adapting. Those types are also bellowing about the change in bringing up Control Center. Formerly swiping up from the bottom of the screen opened Control Center. Now you click the side button. Two actions either way. Swipe up, tap. Click side button, tap. Every added option adds to the complexity of the code and opens up the possibility of faults.
Ah thanks, that works!Tap the watch face once and then use the Digital Crown, I found this solution earlier in MacRumors for all watch faces with Digital Crown interaction, that seemed to stop working with watchOS 10.
Like what they did with Syistem preferences to system settings. That took longer than expected to remap my muscle memory.Apple settings are so dumb like what does that have to do with "Clock"? They really need to nuke their whole settings panel on any iDevice really and start from scratch. It's like they are trying to squeeze today's features into settings from iOS 2 and it just does not work and does not make any sense anymore.
I’m fine when Apple totally changes the UX for my AppleTV, since I only use that at home relaxing, so learning the new UX is not distracting me from anything, but I use AW while cycling, navigating city sidewalks, transit, gym equipment, etc., where fumbling with a change to the UX can be stressful.Certain personality types simply can’t deal with change and are incapable of adapting.
Aside from showing 10:09 during swipes, it also shows 10:09 if you wake up the Always on Display on an anlaog watch face with the digital time complication in the centerAs far as I remember, it did not work exactly the same way before.
In WatchOS 9, when you swiped, you got the new face showing the time. Seems so logic
In WatchOS 10.2, when you swipe, you first get the standard (10:09) time displayed for 1 second and then the actual time. Pretty ugly glitch effect.
How is it they were not able to reestablish what existed before when setting is set to "Swipe" ? Is it because they went a quick and dirty way, just reusing the long press code and simply segueing automatically to the new face. But the result is not nice looking.
I am he of which you speak.Apple changed the interaction because of user complaints that it was too easy to accidentally change watch faces.
Certain personality types think they know what’s best for everyone and don’t care about individual preferences that have been acclimated to for years. A corporation valued in trillions of dollars, that claims to want the user to have the best experience would do well in giving its users options. They can easily afford the resources to write stable code that allows that, but its obvious that’s not really important to them. I’m grateful they have given the option to swipe between watch faces. It was never a problem for me and I never heard anyone complain about it. There was nothing wrong with control center and the action of swiping up to see it. Apple just decided to switch things up. The dock gives me the option of quick access to the apps I want. I don’t want to use a smart widgets function that doesn’t let me edit the list. If Apple really cared about the user experience, why did Apple News appear at the top of my smart widgets? I delete it from every device and yet there it is and I can’t make it go away other than ignoring it until the ”smart“ function realizes I don’t want it.Certain personality types simply can’t deal with change and are incapable of adapting. This. I can see clearly in the article he's doing it on the watch, but for some reason was attempting it on my phone in the Watch app. Must be FridayI just spent far too long using the Watch app on my iPhone looking for this setting as my watch is charging.
Unclear why it’s excluded, but don’t bother looking in case you use your phone for most AW settings as I do.
Ugh really? I like the hold to swipe. It's far too easy to accidentally swipe the watch face.
You have to tap the watch face first, then you can scroll in time. 😃Nice! But when you have selected the watch face “Solar graph”, you still can’t use Digital Crown to scroll in time, it just brings up the silly widget menu. Is there a fix for that?
i really shouldnt care what other people think but.......I get such a great feeling when I come across another person thinking my thoughts. Its like, yes. He gets it!!!! I used to spin the crown when i had the solar system watch face. To view planet position at different times of year. Now thats gone. Ugh.Nice! But when you have selected the watch face “Solar graph”, you still can’t use Digital Crown to scroll in time, it just brings up the silly widget menu. Is there a fix for that?
