I'm on the GM. I took it off charge at 7.00am it is now 5.30pm and I am down to 66%. That is 10.5 hours and down 33%. Best battery life I've had on the watch.

I'll say that today was the very first time that I've experienced severe battery drain - I mean from 100-35% in just over 4 hours of minimal use. I'm thinking (hoping) it had something to do with that. Whatever it is, I'm glad they had the decency to pull it - whiners be damned.

Not so sure that was the bug as they called it a security bug.

My girlfriend has been experiencing horrible battery life. 8AM-12PM and its dead. I'm getting okay battery life, I think 1.0.1 was better. Earning active calories is about 5X more difficult, but earring exercise minutes is a lot easier. Neither of us can open 2.0 apps. So I am glad Apple is waiting to release it, a more polished version is better than this. Its too inconsistent.

I'm on 2.0 Golden Master and my battery life is fine. I don't have any 3rd party apps installed but one. Maybe you guys should start by removing 3rd party apps?

Have downloaded the update for pcalc and it loads on the watch pretty snappy

Sorry for bad video but you get the idea.

I also am having terrible battery drain on the watchOS 2 GM. I went from 100% at 6:30 am to 22% at 10am with minimal usage. Unpairing and repairing did not resolve. I bet this is the showstopper.

You might be right. I've been running GM for two weeks and noticed a battery drain so I in paired and repaired seems to have resolved the problem. In your case seems that would be a great reason to hold up release.
How did you get the GM two weeks ago. It only got released last Wednesday??

Your bet would be wrong. The shows topping big is a major issue with native apps loading.

I have had absolutely phenomenal battery life for the last 2 days, after having horrendous for a week. Today, I have 2 hours of usage, 7 hours of stand by and i'm still at 86% on my 42mm.

I'm right there with you... Right now I am at 68% at 5:45pm after wearing it to bed last night fully charged and waking up 7 hours later with 95%. Then, I did an hour workout and lost 8%. They have fixed battery life big time.

It's all over the Dev forums, it's definitely the reason. Some get stuck and you have to reset the watch.

Hmmm, Mine takes about 5 seconds to load after rebooting the Watch, then about a second or so subsequently - still running/in cache.

But it doesn't bode well for apps loading in the times we expect them to. The most compelling thing about the next model of the watch will be speed.

 I wasn't aware you had an inside link to Apple to know what is "definitely" causing the hold up. I'll remember to consult you next time before I post.

It's all over the Internet as well. Looks like a huge battery drain problem might be the real reason and maybe not anything with the native apps not working. Sounds like repairing fixed it for some and others reporting having incredibly good battery performance. I am in the category with the best battery ever and I am on GM.

Maybe this won't be an easy fix and will make apple look bad which is never good.

I'm running iOS 9.1 beta and WatchOS2 GM and batty life has been phenomenal....

Off charge since 6am yesterday (currently 2:50pm the next day) and haven't taken it off my wrist (and used the Sleep Pulse app overnight) and battery currently at 16%

I'm talking about the new native apps, not the ones that currently run off the phone. Some take a while to load, but most get stuck in an infinite loop until you reset the phone.

No inside link, just access to the Dev forums and an understanding of what's going on. You'd rather not know what's the real reason and prefer to believe in a reason that's not real? Go ahead.

The battery thing wouldn't have stopped them releasing the GM to the public as it could be resolved easily enough. The showstopper is native apps not working. That would be much worse than just having to re-pair the watch. The battery thing is spreading over the Internet as the reason for delay, simply because of people not knowing about the Native App issue.

Are there already some apps using the features of WatchOS2 ?
(native apps, apps supporting complications or Heart Rate Monitor)

I know this website ...but there is nothing mentioned...
http://watchaware.com/watch-apps

I think we must wait till official launch of WatchOS2...

The Weather Channel was the only WatchOS 2 app that got thru to my watch before they stopped pushing app updates with the OS 2 code. It wasn't pulling permissions from the phone correctly. Had to toggle location services off then on again for it to work correctly.

The Weather Channel app was released the night before Apple delayed WatchOS 2. I am running the GM of WatchOS 2 and can confirm that battery life is not the issue that caused the delay. My battery life is stellar. It's that native apps are not running on the watch as they should. I have access to the developer forums as well. Shandyman is correct.

When pinging you iPhone, you could hold down the ping button and the phone would flash the rear LED too.

The flash doesn't work for me anymore. Anyone else find this to be true ?
