watchOS 26.5 fixes two Apple Watch bugs, according to Apple's release notes for the update, which is expected to be released next week.

Apple fixed bugs in the Messages and Workout apps:
• Fixes an issue where Messages on Apple Watch may use SMS instead of iMessage when paired with a dual SIM iPhone
• Fixes an issue where Workout app audio alerts could fail to play if the phone was not nearby Apple Watch
The notes also mention the new Pride Luminance watch face available on watchOS 26.5. The watch face has a customizable layout and colors.

Given that the watchOS 26.5 Release Candidate was seeded this week, it is likely that Apple will make the update available to all users next week.

Still have an annoying bug introduced in 26.4 where I can swipe down my notifications and the clear all button is completely unresponsive. If I close the notification screen and bring it back down again, the button works again.

This is still an issue in 26.5 RC on my Ultra 3.

Does 26.5 add back in split/mile alerts on custom workouts that were present in the early betas of watchOS 9?

Why this was removed in the RC and hasn't been added back in is ridiculous... literally almost every other smart watch and workout app has this feature.. but not Apple's Workout app 🙃

When are they going to fix the bug of longest move ring streak that has been there pretty much forever?

Although Apple failed to acknowledge it, this was fixed in 26.4. There are a few threads on the Apple forums with many people confirming it, myself included.

If they are claiming its fixed in 26.5, I am just going to assume they broke what they actually fixed in 26.4 and will not update until I get confirmation.

Most annoying "bug" ever.

I would love if they added non-Apple Maps support for Watch notifications/alerts such as Waze. Or better yet, integrated user-reported traffic / police alerts in Maps so I never needed to use Waze 😁 Walled Garden Apple-specific features only pay off when the end product is as good or better than the app being limiting.

But no fix for swiping down on message notifications to dismiss them and mark as read? This has been broken since watchOS 26.0 and none of the feedbacks ever get acknowledged. Nobody asked for this change in behavior. I still can't understand why Apple won't revert it to the preferred behavior.

Apple Maps has had traffic and police alerts built in for more than 5 years. They expanded the types of incidents you can report in iOS 26, too.

I must be dreaming…

I'm on 26.4 and still have issues with audio alerts. Let's just say (to be nice) it's not making me happy. So frustrated with every platform using this disastrous 26.yada.

I have this issue also.
